I've read parts of that and I think it's very interesting, and has some good useful ideas.
it's like they took the bum on the corner handing out the poorly xeroxed communist pamphlet and took it into the 21st century!

Professor Jared Diamond
His book Titled Collapse is widely reviewed on the net. A net search will also revive articles in this regard.

Having some environmental studies behind me, the chapter headings just recall for me stuff that's been out there for quite some time, but which doesn't get anything neat the attention these issues warrant, unfortunately. In summation, I think we're gone within 200 years based purely on resource exhaustion, maybe well before owing to political factors (war). Very sad, we could take care of mother Earth if so inclined, but those in power have a very different, and short term, agenda.

I read Jared Diamond's book Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed, and it was excellent. I highly recommend it.
