I'm a little bit of a germophobic... OK, maybe I make Howard Hughes seem sane.
Anyway, I'm trying to find a good vegan Hand Sanitizer to carry in my purse. I know Purell isn't tested on animals but it has Glycerin and Isopropyl Myristate. Never heard of that one before but it's on PETA's list of animal ingredients.

Any other germophobics out there that can recommend something?

Purell's glycerin is vegetable glycerin, from what I've heard. The product is supposed to be vegan.
There's another one called Nourish that is an organic, natural hand sanitizer. It's made by a company called Sensibility Soaps. I don't know how widely available it is yet, though.

Thanks! I assumed Purell had animal ingredients and I didn't even check out their website before asking here. If I had done that I would have found this:

ARE PURELL PRODUCTS TESTED ON ANIMALS?
PURELL products are not tested on animals. PURELL was developed with controlled lab tests on human participants.

ARE PURELL PRODUCTS CRUELTY FREE?
PURELL Instant Hand Sanitizer does not contain any animal products or by-products.

So you're right! Now the thing is that I see the Pfizer logo on Purell's website. :(
I'll check out Sensibility Soaps, thanks again!

Oh my! :surprised: Because I work in the medical field I use hand sanitizer all the time, and have never once even thought about it. Thanks Raggydoo and Missleigh! I have looked at other into a couple products my company orders and encouraged them to change to cruelty free/vegan products (which only works if the alternative product is in the same price range). So I better look into this one too.

I found this one now:

Nexcare Hand Sanitizer

I can't find ingredient information on their website so I send them a message asking, I'll let you know what they say.

Vegmedic, which brand do you use at work?

Bath and Body Works sells a bunch that are vegan too (and not animal tested!). One of my (very sweet) parents at work got some for us as a gift a few weeks ago. :)

Thanks IamJen, is this the kind you're talking about?

Does it leave your hands sticky like lotion?

Glycerin and Isopropyl Myristate.
Neither of these is animal.

YES!!!! I am so happy that Purell is Vegan!! I kept buying this towlette at Whole Foods and they are 50 cents each, which I think is expensive. I am so glad to find this information out about Purell.
