I'm going to be receiving my first photovoltaic panels today! I'm so excited to be taking my first steps toward energy independence!:nana: These first two panels are going to be used to pump water from our seasonal creek during the rainy times to store in large tanks for use later to irrigate the garden. If anyone's interested, I'll post here about setting up the system and how it works out. Since we're in the dry season now, I probably won't get to test it until the Fall, but as it is, I still have to buy the pump and water tank.
Between rainy seasons the panels will be used to charge batteries to run lights, fans, and other small appliances.
Eventually I hope to put our house entirely on photovoltaic for everyday living, except for high-power using appliances like washing machine, fridge, and stove. But that's probably pie-in-the-sky because holy cow those suckers are expensive!
