Check out the PR on Antin's line quoted below and then read the ingredients of his "Dirt Texturizing Paste":

Each Essential Water(tm)-based formulation is as luxurious as it is nourishing. Made from select natural oils, exotic butters plants, and sea extracts, each of the shampoos, conditioners, styling and finishing products is designed to help leave your hair looking great and feeling healthy - with minimum effort."

I watch that show. I'm disappointed now. Jonathan lied to us.

I'm dense. Please explain. Is it the horsetail extract?

I'm dense. Please explain. Is it the horsetail extract?

Actually I saw that somewhere else and thought the same thing. But I guess there is a horsetail plant.

I'm assuming it's the beeswax.

It's the Lanolin....comes from sheep. It's an excretion that comes from their skin and coats their hair.

And the beeswax, yes.

I remember Jonathan touting his product line as "VEGAN". WTF??? Beeswax I don't care about, but lanolin?? I've bought his overpriced shampoo and conditioner already. I'm no activist, but what's a girl to do? Someone get on the horn and straighten this out.

Yeah it was the lanolin and beeswax that caught my attention...both in the first 8 ingredients listed. I tried to write his company at www.jonathanproduct.com but the entire site is run on Flash and I'm on dial-up here. I waited about 10 minutes for it to load then gave up. I'd be very curious to hear their "spin"!

I expect they will get called out on it sooner or later!

Actually, the Dirt Texturizing Paste is not in his line of vegan products. He only has a few vegan items, and it tells you whether they are or not.
