I don't really care where we stay as long as it doesn't cost me $150 for the weekend. If we stay some place that pricey, I'll pretty much see the inside of the hotel and that's it.

thats cool we can stay where we are.. i was only concerned about the going out in the evening (hint hint BARS!) plus it would suck to take 4 cars everywhere we go...

Kathym,
I'll give you my mother blessing now. I approve and may you and Choi have the happiest life together. Well, I best stop there. Love is wonderful and get all gushy inside and I just start being so last century romantic. Love you both.

Vegan Day? Never heard of it but that is so cool! Choi will freak out since he lectures me all the time about the most simplest things I eat or wear.
I'm going to drive down this Saturday to where we're staying and scope out our options (hint hint BARS!) I wish scarey was still coming, she knows the area and had a game plan (I think) but anyways, she hasn't absolutely confirmed she will not be attending, it was more like "probably won't be attending" so there is still hope!
Also, what else should I check out while I'm around the Atlanta area as far as day time stuff goes?
I sure hope you hard core v*gans don't start cleaning my house out of things that I shouldn't have.
Also, I have a parrot...is anyone allergic to birds? If so, I probably can take him somewhere for a couple of days.

If I have any problems with your parrot, I'll just take a benadryl or something.
As far as daytime stuff goes--are we still planning on the botanical gardens? That would be nice. Also, I don't know if anyone else is interested in this, but I'd kind of like to see the Olympic park (I have Olympic Fever), but I'm pretty much open to anything. I've never been to Atlanta, so even going grocery shopping will be an adventure for me.

Sure I haven't seen Olympic Park and that shouldn't cost any thing. I believe the Botanical Gardens is still on. Probably Friday night when everyone is in, we can all look at our options together... so we'll just play it by ear.

I got brochures from the gardens and we could get a group discount if we put a deposit down, but I believe the savings is only a whopping dollar, so I don't think it's necessary to go that route. Admission is $10 though (part can be seen for free), so if anyone would rather do something that doesn't cost anything it'd be nice to find out what other options are available.
So who's up for karaoke?! :D I promise not to fight for the microphone, but I can't speak for muppet! :D
As for the "stuff you shouldn't have" kathym, since I'll be there early, I can clean it out for you via consumption! :D

Ok, kids--homework assignment! Look online or ask around or read a book or something and find 3 things you would like to see and/or do while in Atlanta. We won't be able to do all of them, of course, but with all those ideas, we can surely come up with enough stuff to fill a weekend.
So, here's my 3:
1. Visit the Olympic Park
2. Wander around/shop at the Little 5 Points area
3. Vegan Picnic!

I agree!
1. Botanical Gardens or any other park or nature filled area
2. Wander around at the Little 5 Points area (can't afford the shoppin', but I like to browse! :))
3. Vegan Picnic

I was just browsing the Little 5 Points website and you're right, Oneness--Soul Vegetarian is in that area.
Here's some websites y'all might find interesting:

Couldn't find a website for the Virginia Heights area.
