 Ran my 2nd-ever 5k this morning...it was already HOT by the time they started...
I ran it in 28:06 ... that's about 1.5 minutes off the first 5K I ran a couple of months ago; that puts me at about a 9:03 mile. I wanted 28 or under, but I'm not beating myself up for it. There was some major hillage going on throughout the course, and I had probably a minute of total walk-time...so...I can see some improvements. With the hills, the 28:06 wasn't bad for the anti-Speedy Gonzales me :sunny:
And...so that was that!
:nigel: Cheers!

Took the group out for 2 miles.
Came back and waited around for awhile and then the annoucements took too long so the group of us that are training for LVM skipped out and ran another 10.5 for a total of 12.5.
a) it really sucks going out, coming back, waiting around, and then going out again.
b) we topped out at 105 (F) today
c) i felt like dying at mile 5.5 of the second time we went out where one of my training partners looked at me and made me dump his water bottle over my head.
Ugg. Hard to beleive this run was only 12.5. What a disaster.
PV, you go girl! Congrats! You had an excellent time. :)
Mark, I can't wait for a race report of your 100 miler! I hope that your survived that race okay.

Tried to do 28 minutes of intervals outside (I forgot my gym shoes when I went to the gym, so came home and tried to tough it out outside) but it was too hot, my spoiled muscles didn't like that I was outside and not on a treadmill, and there were too many hills. Blech.

7 mile run today...a super-hot one. Maybe a bike ride later and walking with the dogs, if it cools down enough by the evening.

Today:
10 mile bike ride.
I am planning on getting up early tomorrow and going for a nice, long run. But, we'll see if I actually do it. :) Haha. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Went on the treadmill last night - walked/ran 5km in 42 minutes (this is an improvement on my previous time of 50 minutes walking on the treadmill). I only managed to run for about 10 minutes of that time. I'm trying to be able to run 5km without stopping by September. Running is hard!

I had a great time at my race on the weekend, though I was not able to finish the entire distance. The heat and humidity got to me (and about 50% of the other runners!) and I was so nauseous that I couldn't keep water down. Between miles 60 and 80, I consumed only one pretzel, one cracker, a piece of ginger candy, and one or two bottles of water, which I promptly threw up. I was pulled from the couse at around 85 miles. I don't consider this race to be a failure, and I'm very pleased with how I did considering the circumstances.

Hey Mark, I saw your report on coolrunning and how hot and humid everybody said it was there. You did an amazing job to make it as far as you did. Congrats on your race. :)
Today: 3 mile run, 2 mile walk

Lords no, man!! Way to go!!! That's really too bad about the weather...do you think you'll do another one, perhaps when the season changes over to Autumn?
Yesterday my sister made me go to this stupid thing with her and we didn't get done 'til 9 P.M. and by then I didn't have the energy to go lift :|
Sooo...this morning I ran for 60 minutes starting at around 5:45 A.M. and I plan on going lifting with a friend tonight to make up for last night :p
:nigel: Cheers, hammies!

Congratulations, mark! That's a tremendously admirable race you ran no matter how far you got :) Especially considering the circumstances, too.
6 mile run and 4.5 mile walk today.

Yesterday, along with the A.M. run, I also did about an hour of upper work.
Tonight is lower and I'm thinking 60 minutes on the Ellip, or maybe split time with the stair-stepper
IT'S SO HOT OUTSIDE!!!
:nigel: Cheers!

Wow, did I not update this?? Oops.
Yesterday:
60 min. dance practice! It went very well and I led the practice yesterday since I newly became co-leader. :D
Maybe some ab work today. Don't have much time - I have a LOT of cooking to do tonight. For friends and co-workers. I think may be too nice. :P
Hopefully, 90 min. jazz dance tomorrow. Yeah!
Go HAMSTERS!!

I'm still sore from body combat on Friday. But I went to Body Flow today, which was good. I was careful with my back, and fortunately it's not complaining.

Went to Body Pump last night, and then 15 minutes on the treadmill afterwards.
I'm going to have to increase my weights at Pump. Last night was a bit too easy!

Ummm...today I walked about a mile, then fell in the only hole in the path while staring at a rock, shaved some skin off of my leg, and ended up with a numb ankle and butt. I went home after that. :p

Yesterday, I did some ab work (crunches/ leg lifts/etc.).. since I was feeling a bit sluggish after having maybe 2 tbs. cookie dough, 1/2 a cookie, and some chips last night after dinner.
Today:
90 min. jazz dance class! My uh... "crimson friend" just visited this morning so its gonna take extra motivation to actually make myself go tho. That could also explain last night's sluggishness too, I guess. :p
I'll give it my best tho!
GO HAMSTERS!!!
