Most of you probably already know this. I'm not very good at keeping secrets when I'm excited about something. :D But for the rest of you here it is...

VegWeb - http://www.vegweb.com - is shutting down the bulletin board portion of their website and I've been working with the webmaster to ensure that their members have one place to go. Here!

So this morning their boards were shut down and their members were encouraged to register with VB. It's a fairly active board with a lot of members. I realize this will be a little stressful on everyone but they seem like a great bunch and I don't foresee many problems with our two communities gelling into one.

To make this process easier on everyone I have created a hidden VegWeb forum (only for their members and our mods) so that they can get used to VB before venturing out into the other areas. It will also give them some time to get to know some of us. This hidden forum will be available for one month and then it will be removed.

To be honest I'm not really sure what to expect. Once we get up to speed I'm guessing the posting activity will be almost double what it is now. Not really sure how it will effect the number of members. I guess we'll see. :) Yvette from VegWeb has also offered to continue advertising VB on her site. :)

I know you will all go out of your way to make our new members feel welcome. This is your chance to show them what a great community they are joining! I'm very excited about this and I hope you are as well. If you happen to have any questions or concerns I encourage you to pm me.

wow, congratulations michael! i think it'll be very nice to have these newcomers (or oldcomers?) aboard. i'm looking forward to seeing the extra content on this board because of it (specifically in the environmental forum, hopefully).

if any of you are reading this, hello there heh. and don't worry if it looks like this is some tyrannical dictatorship where michael keeps us in line with his whip. because, well, it's true but it's really not so bad once you get used to it :D

There's not really a whole lot going on there actually. Once we get past all of the intro and "how do I?" posts it'll actually slow down a bit.

As much as I wish 'Meo' was my real name, it isn't... but pretty muich everyone I know calls me that. And it wasn't my picture either... but it did look like my friend's brother. My new avatar is my sister (blonde monster she is).
