I think maybe that is the post I read too (from January) in that thread unless I have a dead head and just don't recall well (?)......but I know it was very early on in the year coz that is when I changed my name from VegAnaconda to what it is now but rules changed for name change immediately after my (same account) *direct name change* which since/then-on the new rule is you must reregister again (as said in post referred by Guacivore) I've no idea why. A direct name change would not leave you with 2 accounts so why not let people do it that way? Surely that is less hassle for you (and for us) Michael than having to verify a new account?

The link above explains the policy. We no longer let people change names because it's confusing to everyone else.
