I just watched the trailer for serenity and all i can say is wow! Is there any other firefly fans on VB counting down the days, hours minutes and seconds till this movie is released? or am i the only scarily obsessed person out there?

I never watched Firefly but I'm a pretty big Joss fan. We saw the preview this weekend and I second your wow! We're definitely planning on seeing it.

I'm also a huge Joss fan!! I've never really gotten a chance to see firefly, but my friend tells me I'd love it (and she's usually right), so I can't wait to see the movie! The trailer looks awesome!

I only watched part of one episode of Firefly and was disappointed but the trailer for Serenity looks pretty good. I'm sure I'll go see it...

I'll probably see it, but I have to be honest; everything Joss Whedon has made but Buffy (which was the best thing ever on TV :) ) has been disappointing or just terrible. Hopefully this will be an exception.

I used to feel that way too, but then Angel grew on me. Not Angel himself, but mostly the supporting characters.

I always thought of Angel as the show where reject Buffy characters were doomed to live an eternity of bad dialogue.

I gave it two or three chances, but I just couldn't stand it. And I thought David Boreanaz was the weakest character/actor on Buffy, so I can't say I was really drawn to that show. And then they put the whiny watcher over there...

Yeah... not my thing. And I don't usually give shows a chance because TV takes up a lot of time once you get hooked on something... so either I try it and it's the best show ever and I'm a huge fan (Buffy) or I try it and I never watch it again (everything else). :)

He was a real bad-ass by the end. I missed the first 2 seasons the first time it was on and now I'm watching them all with my sister on DVD so it'll be interesting to see how his character changes.

I think David Boreanaz has the acting skills of a tree. Boooring. And it seems like every episode is the same story with different bad guys plugged in.

Yep, I love the way Wesley progresses.

And ITA about DB. He just sucks. But I like the show in spite of him.

Besides there's all the nice eye candy of Wes, and Gunn, and of course the deliciousness that is Spike.

I'm actually gonna try to catch the Firefly episodes they are running on SciFi. But it's such a bad time - I think 6 & 7pm. I normally don't watch TV until after the boys go to bed.

Hmm. That looks pretty cool. I may check that out when it comes out on DVD.

I've never seen Firefly before but I loved Buffy (I have all the seasons on boxset :D ) and Angel seemed kinda good but I only watched a handful of episodes.

The whiny watcher?? Oooooh no, Wesley was downright hot by the time that show ended.

I ~love~ Buffy and Angel and I keep hoping against all hope that Whedon will come out with something of that caliber. Firefly, of which I only watched a couple eps, never did it for me.

Wasn't that the case with both shows, tho? Their leads, after which the shows were named, were both some of the weakest characters. I personally don't think SMG could act her way out of a paper bag, and I never really dug DB at all. My interest was always in the other characters, some of whom were extremely interesting to watch.

Yep. Buffy was the annoying one to me on her show as well.

After being forced to watch the whole season of firefly pretty much non stop by my sci fi obsessed friend , i can't wait for serenity. I was really concerned until i saw the trailer that joss would ignore the series completely and make up a whole new plot line and not tie up the lose ends. But after seeing the trailer it looks like he's staying true to the series and going to answer the whole river thing! I can't wait, i think i've seen the trailer about 30 times. Grrrr why cant october be here already?

Oh and i think i started a thread on this a few weeks ago.

Hehe, anyway, I can't wait! I'm going to throw a Firefly party sometime in the next month to get my friends hooked on it, so they'll all go see Serenity with me. It's gotten a lot of positive reviews from fans.

The show is incredible, but you have to watch it IN (DVD) ORDER! When it was on tv it was all out of order, so it didn't make sense. Trust me, it's good!

I already saw Serenity in June. It was great. :)
Then again, I liked the series too, though I only ever watched it on DVD.

I have friends who're nuts for Firefly, and will probably do a group excursion to see it when it's released. I watched the episodes a couple of months ago and thought they were okay, but I didn't go gaga over them.
