Ok it's not important but:

Why does the length of my signature vary ?

See: http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3995

It looks the same to me.

Speaking of signatures, has the four-line limit on the sigs been changed? I just noticed that Tame has a sig much longer than four lines.

What are you? 12?

Michael

No, that's how many lines are in your signature. :p

I've turned sigs off due to slow load speed on my pc :(

i'm starting to think tame and skylark are actually an old married couple.

oh, and i think 1vegan was talking about how the space under our signatures often varies, thread-to-thread. like sometimes, there is only one line's worth of space under mine, and other times, four or five line's worth.

I would have found that funny two months ago.

This has moved past the stage where I find any humor in it at all.

Oh... ok. I think I know what you mean. Like in this post...

http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?action=showpost&postid=74835

...it's close to the bottom and in this post...

http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?action=showpost&postid=74837

...it's not. The signature is not set up to be on the bottom. There's a blank line after your post and then the signature. So the longer your post the closer the sig will be to the bottom. I hope that make sense.

it is a sad day, indeed, when tame's goat gets got. :p

thanks for the explanation, michael-luv.

I wouldn't mind if the rules were loosened so I could tell a few members what I think of them.

Ter and anyone else on dialup - once we upgrade to the new version of vBulletin (coming out soon) I'm going to offer a low-bandwidth style in addition to this one.

Ta. :) Some days it's a nightmare, like 60 seconds between pages. grrr.

Teri, that's really not going to make much a difference though for someone on dialup (disabling signatures) since the pages themselves are pretty large with lots of code and all, and threads with lengthy posts will take longer than those with shorter posts.

To speed things up, you "might" want to try disabling stylesheets and even disabling graphics in your browser preferences. It won't look as pretty, but should speed things up for you somewhat.

It makes sense. I can understand computer sense.

What about the signature, is the four line thing an advice or a rule ?

Actually it's 5 lines (I think I said less than 5 but I actually meant 5 or less). Once things slow down a bit I'll start contacting people about it.

5 lines of what length? What if each line of my signature was to become 255+ characters? And what about font sizes and images?

If you look at the sigs on Lit. you may notice some sigs are threads in themselves!

5 lines on my screen. :D
