For some reason, I feel the cat in this picture is about 3 seconds away from tearing their little kitty stroller to shreds.

I just bought one of those!

It still has to be assembled, so I haven't tried it out yet. I don't know if my cats will like it, but if it turns out they don't, I'll use it for groceries, or something else, like the description said.

I'll keep you guys posted.

She may not be happy but at least she's fashionable.

I should get one for the rabbits. It's about time they gave me some new scars.

Oh, all right, perhaps I should explain why I bought it.

I made a mistake when I adopted my cats (they were both 13 weeks old at the time). I DID buy collars for both, but since they were going to be strictly indoor cats, I never bothered to put the collars ON them. Never tried to get them used to collars. So, several years later, when I realized that it was actually possible to put collars AND a harness or leash on them and take them for walks (yes! take cats for a walk!), they didn't like having the collars on them one bit. When I saw this pet stroller in the Drs. Foster & Smith catalog, I thought it might be worth the money, in order to take them out and let them get some fresh air. We live in an apartment with no backyard or balcony, just a patio down below that nobody sits in, only walks through to get to the back of the building. There is no place to let them lie on grass and enjoy the outside for a while. The apartment door leads to an outside walkway on the second floor. The cats WILL go outside this door and walk around and look and sniff for a few minutes, but they are so shy, the minute there's any kind of noise, they'll run inside. I though it was worth a try to take them out in a stroller, part of which is covered, so they could hide from people if they want. <shrug>

It seemed like a good idea at the time. :-/

I bet some cats would like that. There are pets that like to be pushed around. :)

This is a funny thread. My former companion used to take our Siamese out for walks on a leash. I don't know if he liked it or not but he did get into chewing grass and sniffing around. He was strictly indoor, but yeah, cats on a leash taken for walks. I have an indoor grey and white tabby, but he loves it outdoors.
I want to let him out but I live on street where drivers don't stop. He seems fine indoors and had to kind of train him. Had him for ten years now. No collar. I don't believe in collars. Except for walking. I was at this cool little coffehouse on Sunset and I saw a cat on a leash and this cat was beautiful. Forgot what breed but there he was on a leash in the shop and his parents were eating dinner and the little guy was friendly. I talked to him a bit and let him smell my hand and pet him. As much as cats are independent they are very social. I let my little guy out and walk around together but if I take my eye off him he will jet. He is an explorer. And gets mad at me when I bring him in, but we are buds.
No leash. I think he'd freak if I tried that on him.... probably chew right throught it like he does to my shoe laces.

I have never owned a cat so I have no idea. It just looked funny to me :D

I would know that if that were a dog (the product description mentions it) I would think it cruel to just push the poor thing along without letting it out. It'd be the same as letting it stare out the window all day and not letting it outside, except maybe for the difference in fresh air.

I have one cat who is obsessed with going outside. She has been an indoor cat her whole life but I let her out in the back sometimes and keep an eye on her. She has been getting a little sneaky though lately and I bought a harness and leash which we are sllooooowly getting used to at this point. I don't have a fence and she kept trying to go around to the front of the house when I wasn't looking. So we now are doing a leash. Although I probably won't walk her far. Just let her sniff around in the back. She would probably love that stroller thing but I don't think I have the balls to push my cat around the neighborhood in a stroller.

I have a harness and a leash attached to a tether that I secure inside the patio door which lets my cat wander around twenty feet of the backyard. I always keep an eye on her so she doesn't get tangled, but mostly she just sits and sniffs the air. :D

It seemed like a good idea at the time. :-/And it *is* a good idea. I was just thinking of my cat who would never go for something like that. My bad for acting like all cats are alike.

So did they take to it ok?

My cat loves her harness and leash. If we're all outside, she wants to be outside too and she'll stand at the door and MEOW until someone comes and puts her harness and leash on. She'll even lay down while it's being put on. Pretty amazing since she's 10 years old and to my knowledge has never had a leash on her until about 2 years ago (collars, yes but not a leash). Once the thing is on her, she'll go straight to the door to be let out and when she's done sniffing everything, she goes to the door to be let in again.

I though my cat was the only one that liked going for walks. It's good to see that there are other cats that love it just as much.

I have heard of people taking cats on a walk (on a leash or harness or something). I can safely say that maybe 1 of my 3 cats would go for the stroller. The other 2 would proceed to rip their way out, take off running and attempt to eat/play with any bird/mouse/bug/frog/whatever might be in the vicinity. My girls are little huntresses, which is why I keep them inside. :)

Lots of little dogs, like Yorkies and Malteses, get carted around by their owners all the time. Ususally in handbags, or baskets. I bet they'd love that stroller thing, so that their delicate little footsies wouldn't have to touch the icky ground.

I don't know if a cat would enjoy it, but it looks handy for getting the cat to and from the vet, if nothing else.
