I have seen on dont test lists the brand that makes 'Simple' and 'Nivea'
But it mentions nothing about being against testing on theor websites.
Does anyone know if they are safe to buy or not?
Thanks!

I did a little research.......but was unable to come to a complete conclusion. I suggest you contact them and ask.

I contacted Nivea (Beiersdorf), and they sent me some information in the post. If you're vegan, you may want to contact them yourself to get the information, as it lists all the ingredients that are animal derived so you can look out for them.
As for animal testing, it says that 'Beiersdorf does not perform experiments on animals in order to assess the safety or efficacy of cosmetic products. However, for the time being data obtained from animal tests may be necessary for the risk and safety assessment of medicines or medical devices.' It then goes on to say that the issue of ingredients is complex, and animal experiments are currently the only means to identify health hazards from raw materials, and that hardly any ingredients have not been tested on animals at some time. So basically they don't want to make a claim that could be considered misleading.

That would be enough to keep me from buying their products -- that and the animal ingredients.

Well they aren't lying about anything. But i wouldn't use their products unless they said for certain that there's no animal testing involved. It's a shame cos their products have worked well for me.
i'm almost positive 'Beiersdorf'- the makers of nivea, test on animals!
