The other night on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart interviewed a guy who just published a book that basically proves that 9/11 was a joint Al Qaeda/Irani operation. This was the first I've heard about this, but I have heard talk about Iran maybe being "next."

What are everyone's thoughts on this? Do you think we're headed to war with Iran, now? Do you think there's anything to this?

We can't enlist enough soldiers to keep our presence in Iraq without forcing them to do unusually long tours. I think Iraq is a very long term commitment at this point.

I think we would be headed to war with Iran, if our military weren't as stretched and generally unhappy as it now is.

Well theres something in the wind. My kids unit that just did a tour in Iraq and returned to Germany is being broken up. His isnt the only one. He is more then likely going back to Iraq. As far as the comment that the millitary is unhapy he hasnt expressed anything remotely close to that.

As far as Iran..I doubt it. I wouldnt be surprised theres a connection to 9/11. But unless theres some overwhelming evidence I dont see Bush as having the political juice to go in.

Seems to me, we went to the Middle East, long before the Middle East ever came here; it didn't start in NYC, nor D.C. Who cares who's responsible for "9/11?" We asked for it, and we got it. We're still asking. Destroy Al Qaeda, obliterate Iran: that's not an end to it. It's an endless spiral that only we can stop, because we began it. This goes back to the question, "are Americans suicidal?" I would hope Americans are beginning to realise, we CAN'T win, and will back out of where we should never have been in the first place. The British, our allies in this, have retreated, or been thrown out of, every place on earth they've ever been. Surely, we're smarter than the Brits.
