Since Kiz posted that new thread (possibly from seeing this?) I'm too scared to click on it. Can you give a brief description of what's beyond that link? A graphic picture?

Well a teenage boy raped a dog and she died.... He is also accused of raping a 3 year old child. The link is to the story.

Unfortunately, this is way more common than anyone would imagine. I am active with this group and there are several court cases pending, which involve just this sort of thing.

im seriously crying.

(on another note, that is also terrible, some asshole set a 3 month old puppy on fire and left it for dead. granted, she survived, but everyone in my area are signing up to adopt her.)

dont people who hurt animals end up being sociopaths and serial killers??

He raped a child too. Did anyone seem to notice that?

 That poor dog and those poor children.

I wonder if he's raped/molested before this.

Lots of folks scream that animals and humans are equals, but w/ the lack of compassion for the child, I would swear that dog's life was much more important than the child who will be scarred for life.

Yeah, that particular article was 99% about the dog. They only mentioned the children very briefly but then put their ages over to the side.

The whole situation is really disgusting.

Either way, that boy needs to get help. I wonder what happened to him to make him do something so depraved. :worried: I hope he gets the help he needs before he does something worse.

I was wondering the same thing. I mean, I read about horrible people all the time and I guess it shouldn't shock me anymore how insanely terrible and cruel some people can be. But at the same time, I can't possibly fathom how someone can be so cruel (to people and/or animals) and not have regret or a conscience about it.

He's a pedophile and a serial rapist. I don't know how much help would do for him. Most people like that are never "cured". :-/

this makes me sick and angry, for the girls and the dog. it shouldn't be a matter of being more compassionate about either and debating which is getting more attention. i wish more attention were given to this type of news, make people more aware that this does happen, not to be numb to it, but to do something about it.

sorry if this sounds callous ... yes, it's certainly disturbing all around ... but the child didn't die as a result, the dog did. also, the 3 year old probably won't remember the incident even a year from now, so ...

Yes, the dog died, and that is sad and horrible. But how do you know that the child won't remember what happened to her? And why is the title of this thread "boy abuses dog"? The girl isn't even mentioned. To many people here, she is an afterthought. That is unacceptable. Being concerned with the welfare of other animals doesn't mean abandoning your own species and making statements like the one above, which is so disgusting I can't even comment on it. Grimey_snoozer, I strongly suggest you reevaluate yourself.

If you had a clue what you were talking about you would not have made such a statement. How far back are your earliest memories? Most people have memories from 3 years old and many even farther back.
Also, the damage done to this child will reside in her subconscious for the rest of her life. You may want to look up a bit about the subject before you make such a reprehensible comment in the future.
Then again, perhaps you are just trolling.

i don't think anyone is abandoning their species here. for me, i was simply stating why i felt the child was not the focus in this thread. no, i don't know for sure that she won't remember being molested, but it is very *probable* that she won't. perhaps the girl isn't mentioned in the title because this particular forum is about *animal* rights and welfare. the 13 year old girl isn't mentioned in the title either. in fact she hasn't been mentioned here at all!! seems like she is an "afterthought" even for you, eh?! thanks for the suggestion, btw.

Poor girls, and poor dog. But if I had to choose between being the dog that died or the young girl that has to deal with this for the rest of her life, I'd rather be the dog.

Maybe some of the people that forgot to mention the girls didn't read through the article? I'm not really one to put one species over the other, but the girls' suffering is going to be so much more severe.

do contrary statements always equal trolling to you?? didn't know opinions weren't welcome here. my bad.

And if she does remember? I guess you, and people like you don't care. Dogs are much more important than kids right?

i never said that. and i don't believe that either. you misinterpret what i said, why i said it, and are now rewriting it to make me seem worse than i really am. fine. whatever. i'm not going to argue with you people.
