I had him on my lap the other day and I was trying to imagine what it would be like not to have him around. I can still hear him meowing at me. We knew something was wrong when he lost his appetite a couple of days ago. Milt was the hungriest cat in the world. He was always begging for food and would wait at our bedroom door in the morning so he could bug us when we woke up until we fed him. Anytime he heard someone in the kitchen he would come running and start begging. I could never leave certain foods on the table unless I was right there or he would jump up and start eating. He was always pawing at us while we ate trying to get something. His favorite was chips. I took him to the vet a few months ago because he was always so hungry but he was so skinny. They thought he might have some thyroid problem but the tests all came back neg. He was an old cat, somewhere around 16-18 years old, maybe even older and he had been with us for 13 of them. We knew he might not be with us much longer especially the last few days, he just didn’t seem right. Yesterday morning when he wasn’t there yelling for food my hub went looking for him and found him, he had just laid down in a favorite spot and died. We all miss him very much.
