The Rev

Would you feel any differently about our beloved President if here were exactly the same man, except that he was vegan and promoted animal welfare issues?
:D

Nope.

Well he's not my president, but if he was a vegan who promoted AR issues he would not be the same man. :p Therefore, he may be tolerable. :)

My opinion of George Walker Bush has nothing to do with his diet or his support or lack thereof of animal welfare policies.
I would Like George Herbert Walker Bush more if he ate broccoli.

Nope. A LOT more would have to change.
If George Bush were to somehow become vegan I would be exceedingly concerned and would fear that all laws of the physics were suddenly unstable and imminent collapse of the Universe was upon us.

I'd wonder where he got the crack from, but aside from that, no change. If he started out that way, then I might like him better since so many things he does would have to be different (Unless he was going for hypocrite of the year).

Yes. I would still be angry at him over gay rights, questionable (Ok, idiotic) wars, gun 'rights', etc. etc. But I would like him MORE if he were vegan.

If the President became vegan
Would he eat seitan and tofu?
Would he legislate Silk in our schools?
Would he strengthen animal welfare rules?
Would he eat honey or bone char sugar?
If the President became vegan
If the President became vegan
Would he shop at his local Whole Foods?
Reading all the ingredients lists?
Or would the secret service do this?
Would he ask what is in the bread?
If the President became vegan
yes, I would definitely think differently of him. i still wouldn't agree with some of his other policies but, if he were in support of AW it would only make sense that he would also be in support of a more responsible take on environmental issues. how could i not think differently of him.
No.
If he died his hair pink on the other hand...

I agree with Satya. How could you NOT think differently of him, if he suddenly supported something that would likely save MILLIONS of innocent beings?

That hypothetical again proves that hypotheticals don't mean much.
I think it is more likely that I will have to choose between saving the life of a child or the life of a chicken therefore proving what really matters most to me, and conclusively proving that animals are not important. (haha)
One thing is for sure, The world will end before dubya goes veg. (or it may just end while he is president, but i digress.)
DUBYA IS NOT VEGAN, CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF (click here :-) (http://store.foodfightgrocery.com/notveganbutton.html)
(playing along now-I would like him more if he was vegan, when i find out someone is vegan i like them more, because vegans generally rock the hizzouse so hard in my humble opinion. I would be suprised that a fellow vegan could be such a captain of the SS Douchebag though.)

I don't believe that animal welfare promises to safe millions of anythings. Animal welfare ideology very much allows for the killing and the eating of the animals and things of this nature.

oooh, I misread AW as AR. :)

The same president that started this stupid, useless, pointless, costly, tragic war?
Uh...lemme think about that for a second...
NO!!!!
Anyone who thinks God is whispering instructions into his ear is to be feared and avoided at all costs. I don't care if he was The King Hell Vegan To End All Vegans. Purer than pure.

I think I'd rather have Bill Clinton back on his trying vegetarianism status than Bush as a full vegan.

Nope.
If he were the same man, and invaded iraq, and still said "nucular", I'd still be inclined to take the piss out of him.

"If he promoted animal welfare issues"
Definetely, I'd think better of him.

Self-evidently yes. My feelings about him are a reflection of him, so a difference in the latter is a difference in the former. But I would still dislike him, of course.

Well, I agree...although I still think animal welfare is better than nothing. So but...that's not what I was talking about...I said if Bush went VEGAN, it would save millions of animals...set an example...
I think differently of him, but I still wouldn't think well of him. It would take more than merely being vegan to get my vote. (That is, if I could vote for him :D )
