View Full Version : Love in Action
Please, don't read this if you want to stay calm. I've been having a look at all of this, and it is making me thirsty for blood:

How are these Love in Action people different from the Taliban?

The taliban read the koran. LIA read the bible.

One of my best friends in high school, whose parents were devout Jehovah's Witnesses, was sent to ex-gay camp upon coming out to his parents. They forbade him to speak to any of his old friends, kept him at home at all times, told him he was an abomination, etc., and all that prompted him to run away from home. The last I heard of him, he's become a junkie, crashing at a couple peoples' homes in another city. It makes me so sad.

In a world where knowing absolute truth is impossible, I find it amusing how right people are SO sure they are.

I would be dead with the no mannish/boyish clothes. Plus that's stupid. Wearing feminine clothes doesn't make you not gay. UGH people are so STUPID.
:furious: :wall:  :whack: :brood:
Those stupid, stupid people... :spew:

*WOW* that sure is Love in Action! :spew:
There is no magic wand to un-gay someone. Some people are gay. Some people are flamingly gay. Some people are bi. The bi person might just be gay, but other than that I would expect a sexual prefrence stalmate.
(Also, some people are straight, and some are just undiscriminating kissing bandits)
I am going to start a gayification complex right next door to that place, and I will have a men's Campy camp with maddona costumes and a disco. The women's side will have a girl only make out room and a mini home depot to encourage butchness.
I will out crazy them if it is the last thing i do!

I was a lesbian once. 2 full hours. Those were good hours. Right up until a woman hit on me, and then it all fell apart.
I successfully de-gayed :)

Wow. That sounds scarily like the place my sister was in in MN (though not specifically 'anti-gay').

it is sad, i think all the Exodus and ex-gay stuff is reall ramped up right now because so many teens are finding the support and wherewithall to come out younger and younger. so many u.s. schools now have gay straight alliances etc. it's sooo threatening to those convinced of the evil threat of glbt people...very sad.
luckily there is way more support than there used to be, though still not enough clearly. :-/

Wow, that was depressing. I would never wish my son to be gay, but if he is, my love for him will still be the same. I just really don't know what to say in response to that article, I'm so angry!! :furious:

 Just like wearing masculine clothes (on girls) doesn't make you not straight. Some people have wierd ideas.

How is spending a small fortune, and six weeks, going to knock the gay out of anyone?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ex-gay
Ex-gays are people who claim that they were once gay or lesbian, until they found Jesus and were transformed into good heterosexual evangelical Christians. In many cases they used drugs and slept around when they identified as gay; they blame this on homosexuality rather than their own irresponsibility and low self-esteem.
I have come across a number of more liberal individuals (mostly women) who once identified as gay but are now married to the opposite sex. They don't ID as ex-gay, though. These "hasbians" annoy me by simply existing, but at least they don't preach that other gays should do the same.

Something I've always wondered......why is there so much contempt for homosexuals that decide they don't want to live that life anymore?
If a person comes out, they are ridiculed by heteros...and those heteros are coined as being narrow minded bigots. If a homosexual decides at some point they don't want to live that lifestyle anymore (for whatever reason), that person get ridiculed by the homos....isn't that attitude just as bad as the "narrow minded, biggoted" heteros?

lmao...I know the story's not at all funny, but that phrase, 'knock the gay out of anybody', had me laughing so much. Ah, I will use that all the time in RL now.
