Yeah, it's really rare. Men are 8% and women are something like .5%

i'm with FT. Definately eat more real food. More vegetables for sure! Get more beans, grains (whole), and pulses. Buy whole grain, sprouted bread instead of over-processed enriched breads. Keep soy products and meat analogues to a minimum.

just eat real food, real fats, and you'll be happier.

Hee hee.... I can't see certain shades of green (I don't even know it's green... they look silver or gray to me. The only way I ever found out was someone pointed out an "ugly green car" to me, and I thought it was silver.)

14g of fiber in one serving of your bread? Wow.

I've only been lacto-ovo vegetarian for a little over week. I'm no longer as hungry as i used to be. First couple of days I was feeling sluggish and lethargic. I was craving meat big time. Now, it's not that bad. I still need to get what I need to eat down pat.

Like Killik, the cravings have passed for me, too. I'm starting to experiment with new veggie recipes now...any recommendations?

Thalia, if you wanted to know more about the bread, it's these great whole wheat tortillas I found at Trader Joe's. I eat 2 tortillas as one serving...they're 50 cal each, 5 g of protein, and actually 8 g fiber each (so I get 16 g fiber in my serving!). Just in case you were interested

Yeah, but that's only 50 calories. I eat at least 100 calories in bugs on a daily basis when biking.

ONCE AGAIN, that's not ALL I eat...that is an example of one of them MANY things I eat in one meal alone. I eat several times per day as well. I only told you examples of somethings I eat, I didn't mention the amount size or frequency that I eat those things. Therefore, you have absolutely no clue how much I eat in a day. From what I told you, there is no indication about how many calories total I'm eating in a day. If you please, don't be so quick to assume I don't eat, and stop making me sound like I'm starving. I only meant that my body was still craving meat.

Then the next time someone asks you to post what you're eating, post what you are eating so we can tell you how to fix your hunger problems. We aren't mind readers.

true enough. most people should post not what they're generally eating, but an example of what they ate that day or over the last few days. I'll give another example.

Yesterday i ate:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 1 piece of sprouted, multigrain toast with raw butter, and 2 oranges

Snack: mango-kefir smoothie (1 serving kefir--yogurt drink) and 1 whole mango. also added coconut oil

lunch: 2 sprouted, whole grain tortillas with 1 scrambled egg in each with home-made salsa (tomatoes, red onion, jalapeno peppers, habenaro pepper, cilantro, lime juice--i think i'm missing something), tomatoes, lettuce (baby mixed greens sliced) and tabasco sauce.

snack: hummus with broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, carrots, peppers, steamed asparagus

dinner: chick pea curry (with cream) with broccoli, red and green peppers, celery, carrots, peas, onions, cauliflower, cashews, raisins and bananas with steamed brown rice.

snack: coconut date rolls (dates, coconut shavings, and almonds)--i ate 3 of them which is 360 cals.

during the day, i drank water, 2 cups of lime aide (lime juice, water, and agave nectar), one cup of herbal tummy tea.

i notice that i only ate 3 of my 4 required eggs and that i only had 2 servings of my 2-3 required servings of dairy. there's too much good stuff for me to eat for me to eat that many eggs and that much dairy darn it! back on the wagon today/tomorrow i guess.

i think i might need to make lunch omelettes or something. that's an easy way to get three eggs in with lots of veggies.
