I'm almost done school... I did my last exam Monday morning and I don't have to go back until the 24th to get my report card...

Anyways... the weather here has been weird. It's been really hot one day and now it's cold and dreary. And even when the weather is nice, I've got no one to walk with or to bike ride with... believe me, it gets pretty boring riding around the neighbor hood alone.

So... I've been bored and lazy, and the longer I sit here at the computer, the "fatter" I feel. It's hard to describe. I just feel so inactive and lazy. The last thing I want to do is gain weight during the summer from not being active. I really don't know where to start, but can anyone suggest a routine I can do in the comfort of my own bedroom? Like and x number of sit ups followed by and x number of pushups for an x number of minutes each day? The only exercise I've really been doing crunches for the past month or so. I do them until I hurt (which is between 40 and 50) and my stomach muscles have become a tougher, but that's all I do. But if there is one spot I'd like to focus on, it's either my upper legs or arms. Would any of this help?

Thanks, and I'll thank you again in advance for putting up with my inexperience.

I personally think someone needs to invent a computer power source hooked up to a tread-mill, stationary bike or something. This would also be great fro tv's.

Just imagine all the ferocious peddling as people desperately power the tv's to see the end of their tv show or soap opera :-))

Sorry, I'm no help

I guess I find walkingto the grocery store and back my main source of exercie (1 hour fast walk several times a week)

Lunges are really great for the upper legs, there's a tutorial on them here (http://www.betterbodz.com/quariceps/lunges.html). I only do these once or twice a week, because you can really feel it the day after

As for your arms, do you have a set of weights you could use?

Lol, I wish they would hook a treatmill up to the computer. We have an exercise ball (just no non-slip mat to slip underneath) and my mom said I could try sitting on that while on the computer... I don't know how much good that will do

I walked down to the mall and back earlier. The filter cartridge in my aquarium decided to break, and since I didn't want to leave it, I walked down. I was out for about an hour. And the walk home was all uphill :-/

I only have a set of 2 pound weights, and I find them a little light.

do more reps then. arms straight out in front of you (parallel to the ground) and back to your sides. turn and lift straight out to the sides, and down. repeat til your arms fall off.
if your weights are still too light with more reps try holding 2 big soup cans.
personally i do this in the shower with shampoo bottles :o

while watching tv/on the computer, sit with your feet flat on the floor, then lift them slightly above the floor and hold them there as long as you can. lower and repeat for as long as you're sitting. flex your abs while doing it for a little extra

maybe you can pick up one of those resistance bands. you can do all different excercises with them without needing a lot of space

Hey Flurry! I'm a BIG fan of dancer workouts, which help sculpt your body and give you grace, IMO.

You can try these for a starter - http://articles.health.msn.com/id/100100843

Do this in addition to your crunches and you'll be looking and feeling better in no time. I also suggest trying the "horizontal cycling" - that really works out a lot of your ab muscles. Highly recommend it! :D

Check out The Underground Guide to Warrior Fitness. It's devoted to bodyweight exercises.

I've lifted weights regularly for a year, but the first time I did some of these exercises they totally kicked my a$$.
