FYI, Al-Jazeera is considered the CNN of Middle East. Supported financially by the al-Thani royal family ruling Qatar but given unlimited editorial freedom (apparently, it is a prestige issue for Qatar). Almost all of its staff and reporters come from all over the Middle East outside of Qatar.

ABC, CNN, NBC, Fox, et al have special arrangements with Al-Jazeera which would provide the networks with raw footage captured by Al-Jazeera. So it is possible that many of the footages you see on CNN/ABC/NBC/Fox originated from Al-Jazeera.
