I thought this was kindof a neat article. Apprently boxer Mike Tyson went to a Phoenix AZ city council meeting to 'asking that they not impose new restrictions on the number of pigeons kept on residential property'.

"I don't understand why people would want to get rid of pigeons," he said. "They don't bother no one."

Perhaps there's some chance he could go vegetarian ....hmm, guess he'd have to give up human ears though :D

www.vegieworld.com used to sell vegetarian ear, but I checked a few weeks ago and it wasn't there.

Tyson seems like a decent guy. He obviously has profound anger issues which made him rich, put him in prison, and led him to squander his riches.

He has said recently that he wants to do mission work.

I love that article!

"I am just here for anyone that's for the pigeons."-Tyson

I was just reading an interview with Tyson where he talked about how he used to rip the heads off of pigeons but has since had a change of heart.

yeah, i was just about to say...given his violent past and anger issues, i wouldn't be surprised if he's harmed animals in the past.

but good for him, glad he's had a change of heart.

Anyone hear about his fight last night? Apparently he was winning the first 5-6 rounds and in the 7th totally lost it. He tried to headbutt his opponent and apparently tried to break his arm. Then he quit, he sat down and wouldn't get up to finish the fight. I haven't read the stories but this is what was said at work last night.

Also, someone figured up that he was once worth $300 million and his career has been 20 years. He's broke. $300 million is $42,000 per day over 20 years. Oy.

Ugh, but is having him on our side a good thing, really? Personally, I'd rather him and Paris Hilton go grill their hamburgers in peace somewhere.

I remember there was a Playboy interview with him that was interesting and impressive. It's was too long ago for me to remember what he said, but did find the date and a quote online:

"People don’t get arrested and convicted because of what they actually do. They get arrested for what they’re capable of doing." - Mike Tyson, Playboy Interview, Nov. ’98.

Does kind of mirror the Charlie Manson "The police used to watch over the people, now they are watching the people" line, but what does that really mean anything?
