Ok, I'm joining the Police service and my physical evaluation has been scheduled for the 27th of this month. I was wondering if anyone had any tips/exercises/advice for increasing my fitness as much as possible in such a short period of time? :dizzy: I am not grossly un-fit or anything as I currently have a semi-active job and walk, bike-ride, canoe etc from time to time. However I am by no means quite fit. My biggest fears in the evaluation are the running, the jog with 40kg and the push-pull simulation machine thingy, which is supposed to be like a strong person resisting arrest. I have my 40kg in the back garden and am working on jogging with it (I can already lift it and walk with it) and I am running (on/off walking) every day.
I can't go to the gym, it is not economically feasible at this time...
So yeah any further tips on increasing my fitness, quickly, would be appreciated greatly! :)

My first tip would be to be careful not to overdo it in these last two weeks and get yourself an injury.

Two weeks isn't that much time, but you should probably just keep doing what you're doing, stay aware of how your body is responding to working out, and be careful not to burn yourself out.

For running, I recommend www.coolrunning.com and the training programs in there. Actually, posting in the newbie forum there could get you a lot of great advice.

Eat well, stay hydrated, and carefully challenge your body further. Good luck :-)

thanks very much, I think I'm doing ok, and I will be careful not to over-do it... :)
