Hi i am 19 years old and i really like to do gymnastics for fun. I taught myself some flips on my trampoline at home but other than that i can only do basic gymnastics. Nothing really cool. I would like to learn some new stuff now that i have the money to pay for it since my parents thought it was always too expensive. But since i am 19 am i too old to take classes or would it be okay ? Last year i was in a class with most little kids and some people like aged 15 or 16. But now that I am over 18 i dont know if they actually teach people my age or if it would seem weird for me to join. But i dont want to miss the chance of being able to learn to do some cool stuff ! what do you gusy think?

I do a form of martial arts that involves a fair amount of gymnastics including rolls, back-flips and cartwheels. I'm 26 and only now just learning how to the roll (with a sword) and I'm by far not the youngest there. It's never too late, just call around to different studios. While you're finding a place, stretch stretch stretch and you'll find a lot of moves will be easier when you get to gymnastics class!

You might be able to find a beginners adult class that way you don't feel really out of place with a whole bunch of 8 year olds :p

the local gymnastics outfit in my area has adult classes.

you may also like capoirra (brazillian martial art). it's like dance and gymnastics. really cool.

you'll probably need to find a gym that offers adult classes, and it will be harder than if you started when you were younger.

if you don't know what the brazillian martial art is, you don't know if it's violent or not.

it's not like karate or other martial arts. it literally is like dance. you do it to music played on traditional instruments. it's made up of a basic dance step called a jingha (sp?), and after that, there's cart wheels, hand stand-type maneuverse, flips, and all kinds of really awesome kicking and back-stepping dance movements.

if you look it up, you may like it.
