'Simpsons' Movie Confirmed

Homer Simpson and his hugely popular family are set to hit the big screen in a new full-length movie based on the cult cartoon series. The show's principal voice actors have all signed on for the project and creator Matt Groening is delighted with the script for the film. The Simpsons' spokeswoman Antonia Kaughman says, "Now we're going to get the best of both worlds, evidently... They finally worked out a movie team, a team of the writers, because we could never hire outside writers - they had to be Simpsons writers, and most of them were working on the show. They finally put this team together that has time on the side, and they've been working on the script. So the movie won't be at the end of the series - they'll be working simultaneously."

Woohoo! :vebo:

I second both those comments. Hopefully, it will be more like the classic Simpsons I love so much. Woohoo.

My favorite is actually mid to late period, but not the last couple seasons. I like my plots incoherent.

Sounds good - hopefully it will work in 'movie-length' though...

Ehh, I'll be the killjoy and suggest having low expectations. My experiences with both television and anime are that it is really difficult to scale up from 30 minutes to 120 minutes.

I don't care if it's good or not, so long as Lisa finally gives up cheese and goes vegan.

Yay! :nana: I love The Simpsons, although I do agree that they've had some on and off seasons.

I had a feeling a movie was coming soon. Oy. I'm not going to have huge expectations. If the preview looks good then I'll go see it.

ooh. i'm excited about it just because it's the simpsons, but i agree about it going downhill lately so i don't necessarily have high expectations for it. oh well. this still makes my day :)
