Hi everyone! I've been thinking about going raw for quite a while now, and today I finally decided to give it a go (I'm not telling my mom for as long as I can though, don't want her to fight me about it)... it'll hopefully make my life much more enjoyable, and make me more physically active, as long as making life as a camp counsaler easier (since I don't always have to go into the kitchen to heat something up for dinner).

I'm allready a vegan, but feel as if this is the next step for me. I weigh 170 pounds, and should weigh 150ish... how long does it typically take for a person to lose that much weight on a 100% raw diet?

Finally: how much weight is typically lost per day/week on a 100% raw diet? How much is healthy and how much is unhealthy to lose?

regardless of diet, it's not recommended that a person lose more than 2 pounds a week. That equals 7,000 more calories burned per week than eaten. The difference a raw food diet will make will really depend on what you eat compared to what you used to eat. try www.fitday.com to log your daily calories, nutrition, and exercise. This will also let you see if you are getting all of your nutrients.

Being on raw, I don't listen to fitday at all. That's geared more toward omni/veg*n people. When you're raw, you actually eat less than when you eat cooked food (once you become accustomed to eating raw). Fitday doesn't help out very much, in that respect.

I really suggest checking out rawfoodtalk[.]com I've recently switched over to 100% raw and the information at that board has been extremely helpful.

And also, with going raw, losing weight really isn't a goal. It just ends up being a great by-product of being on raw. Most people don't mention the weight loss as a major thing for them (even if they have lost a lot). THey're just thrilled with the other benefits of finally being healthy
