I hadn't taken a blood test since I was a child, so I didn't know what to expect, especially with this vegetarian diet of two years now. The nurse read off my results and said they were the best she's seen in a long time, asked me if I ran marathons and what not, lol.

My total cholesterol was 124, with triglycerides at 50, HDL - 49, and LDL - 68. They did a full panel test and ALLLLLL the crap was in great standing. I'm just thrilled because for the past few years everyone has been on my case about my diet. Laughing at my gardenburgers, telling me that I might be anemic and that I need to drink milk and eat a steak. Well..... IN YO' FACE! :hump:

that's great, congrats! :sunny:

when i joined the gym my trainer took my heart rate and blood pressure and said he hadn't seen anyone with both at such healthy levels in a long time. my omni bf, a mountain biker who trains & races all summer and works out all winter, has the same training heart rate as me, a lazy lazy vegan. now that i'm more active i should be able to blow him away on the crosstrainer in no time ;)

Been a vegan for 2 years and I had a bone density scan - my bones were at 120% density and I don't even have soy milk or anything

Cholestrol is the whole reason (in the beginning) I went Vegan. I went from being at risk and having high cholestrol and BP to well within normal after going Veg with no meds.
