I forwarded it on, it'll get out there for sure. And we actually paid for this dog to be shot as taxpayers!!! Guess this is what happens when stupid kids are given guns, emptied of what little brains of their own they had to begin with, and trained to be nothing more than killing machines.
Personally I don't want the troops back here, they're crazy, just euthenize them out there.
Very nice comment. <sarcasm>

From PETA...
Please respond immediately, and forward as appropriate. http://www.peta.org/alert/automation/AlertItem.asp?id=1354
Last month, PETA contacted officials at Texas-based Fort Hood after being alerted to a video that appears to depict U.S. soldiers gunning down a homeless dog. This video, now widely circulating on the Internet, was initially forwarded to PETA by visitors to Ogrish.com, where it was submitted with a synopsis stating: “Hi my name is Michael Darcy … of A TRP 1-10 CAV 4ID and while in Iraq we had a sport of killing dogs. … So when I shot this one at about 50 yards with my M4 and it ran yelping to lower ground, we had to finish it. … I’ve never seen a dog take as many shots to the head at least 4 as this one did and then after we thought it was dead we dug a hole and when I picked it up with the shovel it came back to life, so we shot it a couple more times ... its pretty funny.”
PETA caseworkers learned that the 4th Infantry Division (“4ID”) comes out of Fort Hood, Texas—however, Fort Hood public-information officers have declined to comment on this issue, stating blankly that they don’t give weight to anything that can’t be substantiated, “such as Internet postings.” It would seem that even investigating serious allegations to determine whether there is any substance to them is also out of the question.
Please ask Major General James D. Thurman, Commanding General, for his assurance that animal abuse is not tolerated by his command, and ask him to launch a no-holds-barred investigation into this matter immediately. Remind him that the footage is available online.
It is imperative that all correspondence be courteous; otherwise, our campaign will suffer:

In the head with an M4 and it lived? Or did they shoot it in the head with a pistol? Have to be bloody thick or ****-lucky to survive that, methinks.
Will any of those links actually show what happened or is this video hearsay?

What can I say? Some soldiers deserve to come home in a body bag.
What can I say? Some soldiers deserve to come home in a body bag.
That I have to agree with. Freakin' jackasses. But don't assume all troops are like that. Some of them are adopting homeless dogs over there and paying thousands of dollars to bring them back here.
I'm sure the genius in the story above is in the small minority.
I don't know why I clicked that link because now I'm just pissed off.

ah no. I don't want anyone coming home in body bags. I am sick of all the death and killing in Iraq both human and animal.

My cousin shot a dog in Iraq. He said the dogs there attack people (and children, sigh) and they are ferral and closer in blood to wolves. I dunno what to believe.

My son is 19 he has done tour in Iraq and will probably do another. In his off time he was involved a little with helping round up dogs and cats for rescue. Im adding a picture of him since you seem to be interested in his penis size.

How big is your penis? While you're talking.

Enough of the penis discussion, it really has no relevance.

PEOPLE!! We're bashing soldiers?!?!?!? Give me a F***ing BREAK!!!
No matter what you may feel about the military or what we're doing in Iraq, cut those guys some SLACK!! You're not there - who gives you the right to judge their actions?
They are doing their job. They are putting their lives on the line. You may not agree with the reasons they're there, or what they do... you don't have to, it's a free country...but the action of one or two of them (which naturallly gets blown out of proportion in the media) is NOT reason to lump them all together.
Name calling and saying they should all come home in body bags? So incredibly offensive and un-called for!! Thats worse than them shooting a dog in my opinion...
Granted, I don't like hearing about animals being killed either - but let's have some perspective folks!!

I'm not cutting *these* particular guys any slack. There's no excuse for this (and what do you think about the Nuremburg trials - should everyone be excused for their atrocious behavior in a war)? It's egregious speciesism in my opinion to make no judgment about this abuse. But anyone is welcome to invite these a-holes back to their home when they get back, to target practice on the animals they actually care about.
From site...
The dog which was partially stunned and in pain from being shot in the abdomen earlier, is shown in this frame capture from the video as a round from the US army soldier strikes his body.
Another round brutally strikes the dog throwing him backwards from the explosive force.
Our "war hero" now comes into view, the audio on the video tape is excruciatingly difficult to listen to as the dog continues screaming in pain. Would you suppose he is protecting our great country from bomb wielding dogs?
Raising his rifle again he aims another round at the dying dog.
The dog's head can just be seen next to "hero's" left leg being thrown back by the force of the shell ripping through his body
At this point he says in a very animated and jolly voice:
Damn!
Still alive!
Another "hero" steps into camera view and says:
Look out
And uses his rifle on the dog.
A third voice says:
(unintelligeable)...watch out behind ya
Our "war heros" are finished with their recreational activites while remarking how long it took this poor dog to die from the bullets they pumped into him- at least 4 in this clip segment alone.
Then one soldier describes it as "pretty funny."
