I was in the drug store and I saw a line of colognes I hadn't seen before.
The fragrances were apparantly supposed to be common place/everyday scents, such as, Dirt, Gingerale, cotton candy, Sticky toffee pudding, Gin & Tonic, Wet Garden, Rain, etc.
This is the line:

The only one I really liked was Gin & Tonic, but that just somehow seemed kind of wrong... :) Actually, a couple of the others were quite nice - cotton candy, gingerale & Earl grey tea...
I'd be interested to know if anyone has every tried these? Comments?
It says you could layer them. Would leather+dirt+rain= wet dog? :)

Hehe. I actually have Demeter's "Dirt". I think it smells nice, kind of a fresh potting soil and flower type of smell. Also from that line I have "Sugar Cookie". It's yummy. I like some of the others, but I can't afford to buy them very often. The "Rain" one smells good, and "angel food" too. :)
I *think* Christy bought "Gingerale" when we went shopping once. I know she liked it.

I'm sorry, I sure hope I didn't offend you. :o It just struck me funny that a cologne would smell like dirt. I can sort of see why it would be appealing, there are few things as satisfying as working in the garden!

:) No offense taken! It just happened to smell good on me. Some of the other ones that smelled good in the bottle didn't really work with my skin, like laundromat for example. It smells like a fresh dryer sheet in the bottle, but on me it was kind of soapy or something.

I think most perfumes are like that. They really have to work with your body chemistry. I've tried some that smell great on the tester card and just terrible on me.

Damn, when I was first reading down the list of cologne names I thought it just said "sex" and I imagined it smelling like sweaty ass
Where can they be found at? I want to check out a few.
ETA- They carry them at ULTA.

I would try the Dirt one. I can pretend that I've been gardening (Even though I only have a pot with herbs. I don't call that gardening) On a really hot day, I'll mix it with Holly's Sweaty Ass :worried: for effect :p

 I'll be cutting the grass a little later today, so I'll be sure to bottle up some of the gasoline/grass clipping/sweat stank or aroma and send it to them so I can cash in!!

i totally agree that patchouli smells like dirt, but oddly enough, demeter's dirt doesn't smell like patchouli. :)
i, too, wear demeter dirt. i have also worn their holy water and rain. my sister loves the lettuce.
this thread reminds me of a cute joke my advisor once made, "there's a perfume called dirt? what happens if you go out in the rain? [pause for effect] MUD!" you kind of had to be there, but she has the cutest little voice and she was just so proud of her joke. hee.

Does anyone know if these are vegan? A lot of those scents sound really nice. I just found their website and they make soap and shower gel too.

Demeter does not test on animals, at least that is what they said when I contacted them. The ingredients are vegan as far as I can tell. I have been wrong before, but only once or twice, so I would trust me.
I love demeter!
I have cosmopolitan, brownie, angel food cake, lemon, tomato and some others
I love the tomato!

Wow ....what will people think of next" some of the gasoline/grass clipping/sweat stank or aroma and send it to them so I can cash in!!"

Haha ......that has a certain unforgetable scent. Maybe lazy people can wear these things so people think they actually just mowed a huge lawn.
