I'm looking for ideas for a good raw salad dressing. I've heard that you can do an olive oil/apple cidar vinegar one, but I don't know the proper amounts for it.

The salads that I've been making have had baby spinach, mustard greens, carrots, cucumber, celery and sunflower seeds. What would be a good one for that?

When I put oil and vinegar on a salad, I don't worry about proportions, I just drizzle a little of each on, plus a little salt.

My quickest raw salad dressing: equal parts olive oil, apple cider vinegar and agave nectar (not all brands are "raw", though). If you've never used agave nectar, I highly recommend it! It tastes very similar to honey.

i like to just put lemon juice and olive oil and salt on my salads... it's really yummy and it'll go well with that salad combo you said you like :) peace!

It's not 100% raw or vegan, but I really like to make honey mustard dressing sometimes:

extra virgin cold pressed olive oil
apple cider vinegar
mustard
honey

play with the ammounts till you get it all smooth & creamy!

I'll see if I can find a few all raw dressing recipes in one of my recipe books... brb

Same here, but I just use olive oil, lemon juice, tad of salt and a bit of pepper :)

 that's my dressing of choice, too. Lemon juice and olive oil (sometimes salt and pepper if I'm in the mood).

Found this post on Nature's First Law board in the recipe section:

Caesar Salad
Serves 4

Salad
1 lb. Crisp Romaine lettuce (chopped coarsely)

Dressing
¾ cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic (optional)
1 handful of walnuts or macadamia nuts
2 celery sticks
½ cup celery juice or water
¼ cup lemon juice
2 tbs. Honey or 5-7 soaked dates
1 tbs. Kelp granules
Salt and black pepper to taste

How to: In a blender, blend everything together until smooth and thick. Will keep in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. Dress the salad with as much dressing as you want and garnish with chopped cherry tomatoes and diced red onion.

Sorry to butt in, but I am also wondering about salad dressings and veggie dips. Does anyone know how to make a dressing/dip without oil??

Thanks so much!! :)

Mash up ripe avocado with tomato chunks, garlic, salt, pepper, and either lemon juice or lime juice, and you get a dip.

Is there any raw dressings that I can buy? Home made is good and all, but it goes bad quickly. Is Anne's raw?

Oh, and I did have a dressing that I thought was raw today, except for musturd (like, not the seed, but the spread), is musturd raw?

No dressing you can buy in the store is raw unless it specifically says so on the label. I've only found one before that was. But if you don't like homemade dressings, a little bit of cooked salad dressing won't hurt you.

If you're worried about the dressing going bad, just make enough for a couple salads.

I don't know if mustard is raw. I get one at the health food store that is make with apple cider vinegar. Who knows if it's raw, but I eat it very infrequently and I know of other raw foodists who use it. Don't be too strict on yourself. I was really hard on myself when I first went raw and I worried about everyhing and if it was really raw, but I don't really worry anymore. If you accidentally ingest some tiny amount of cooked food, it's not really a big issue.

The dressing I mixed up for my salad tonight was a bunch of fresh basil and corriander, a drizzle of flax oil, a bit more walnut oil, a big clove of garlic, a couple of glugs of the Bragg's apple cider vinegar that usually touted as being "raw", a bunch of black pepper, and some paprika tossed in for color and vitamin A. Oh, and a pinch of Brittany sea salt. The paprika was probably dried at a high temp, but I figure a fraction of a gram of it isn't a big deal. This bag of salt is the first I've bought in my lifetime, but I figure that since I've mostly given up packaged and prepared foods I can afford to add a bit to some things I eat.

Note: I've seen a Spectrum apple cider vinegar that claims to be raw as well.
