It's nice that many people agreed with me about people being allowed to drink at 18.

But more generally I post my opinions because I think people will not agree with me. That is, my opinions consider aspects of problems, consequences, or problems with issues that I don't think most people will have considered. So I post them not so much so that people will agree with me, but so that people might think a little more deeply about the questions discussed.
