Hi everyone--Jo here.
I noticed a thread that someone began about font color was closed--I PM'd someone in authority about it but they haven't gotten back to me as of yet so thought I would address this subject head on.
I am obviously fond of purple (Ha-ha--gee, does it show???), therefore that is what I choose to type in. I mostly use the darkest one but will occasionally incorporate a few others just for variety.
I do not type in light yellow...then I could certainly validate the complaints.
However, I realize that not everyone feels the same....
It was truly not my intention to annoy anyone with this--in fact, I recently received a lovely PM from someone complimenting me on my color choices.
There are others who choose to type in font colors, other than black, as well...I, personally, find them pleasing and can pick them out easier and appreciate their individuality.
I will henceforth attempt to only type in the darker purple and in turn it is my hope that others can be respectful about this issue and keep in mind why this board was started. I will try very hard to do the same.
If it continues to bother some, I can only suggest that you put me on "ignore" so as to avoid anymore ugliness and confrontations for the sake of peace on the board.
My apologies for inadvertantly causing such a debate and engaging in unnecessary tit for tat instead of simply ignoring--again, it wasn't my intention to do harm.

Sometimes people forget that there are different color themes on the board and they type in a color that looks good for them, but it doesn't look good in a different theme, or for someone that has difficulty seeing certain colors. Dark blue, dark puple, and dark green seem to show up okay in all color schemes as far I can tell. Colors like yellow, beige, orange and white only show up well in spoiler tags

As kpickell pointed out there are different color themes here. That's usually why people point it out. There's not really a rule against it but some may find it annoying.

I am more than happy to announce, I have complimented 4leafclover on her style and manners are great too that I've seen. Pure perfection as far as I can make out :) and I even see 4leafclover avoiding arguement and being polite before things take a nasty turn, meaning you have good skill at averting misunderstanding for one thing, and do not intend ever to piss anyone off. :)

thanks for that kpickell, I wasn't aware of that actually, oddly enough, considering how long I've been here, and yet not experimented with spoiler text color to avail of revealing text without highlighting, cool to know even if not so useful :)

Also, I mentioned in S4P, but I'll mention here that if you don't feel like highlighting spoiler tags and/or text that you can't read, you can usually hit CTRL-A to highlight all of the text on a page.

My two cents: were I to choose a non-default color theme that made some colored text difficult to read, I'd accept that as a consequence of that decision. I use "blueberry" (of course) and have no problem whatsoever reading purple or green text.

I don't really like the colored texts. All you rapscallions just looking for extra attention :notvegan: :p If the color is too annoyingly blinding, I'll just skip the post. Problem solved :D
