My local grocery store is now carrying Boca Chili, which thrilled me because stuff like that is *really* rare around these parts. :)

Anyway, it looked vegan to me, so I bought it and tried it. It was really good! Plus, for 150 calories, it provides 20 grams of protein & 12 grams of fiber.

So, can anyone tell me if I was wrong in thinking it's vegan? Has anyone else had it? I really like it because I can bring it to work to heat up and it's good a good spicy kick to it. :lick:

I don't know if it's vegan but it is really good. I add a bunch of diced jalapenos to it. I just wish it were cheaper or that they'd give you twice as much. It's $3.59 here.

Boca chili is soooooooooooo good. I love their lasagna, as well.

I don't know if it's vegan, however.

Ok, went to the site. http://www.bocaburger.com/main.aspx?m=meatless_chili

It says it has no cholesterol...so I'm guessing it's vegan.

I read the ingredients, vegan up to sugar. This stuff is frozen?

Yep. It comes in a plastic bowl inside of a box.

Yes. Plastic microwavable bowl inside of the packaging box.

You put a few holes in the bowls film cover, put it in for about 4minutes on high, stir it, replace film cover, put it in for another 4 minutes on high and it's done.

It'd be OK but seems like a lot of excess packaging, especially to me since I don't do much microwaving and if I DO - won't microwave in plastic containers... yeah, I'm a bit neurotic that way...

I tried it, but it's a bit too spicy for me.

I've had the BOCA Chili and it's nummy. Even though it is spicy. :D

I've seen veg*n chili in cans too, I've never tried them though.

I like to make vats of chili myself. Then portion it out and throw it in the freezer.

I can see where chili as a convenience food is is appealing, but for twice the price of one of those frozen entrees, and if you have the time, you can make a big pot at home. :chef:

I thought it was okay, but not something that I'd buy very often since it was pretty expensive. It wasn't very spicy, so if I got it again I think I'd add some chili powder. But chili is one thing I find easy to make at home and much cheaper to make a big pot that lasts for many meals.

i had it on easter or something. some holiday. i didn't think it was very spicy and it was too liquidy. then again, i like reaaaaaal spicy things haha. i think i put chili powder in it, but i might be dreaming. it might have been something else i was trying to spice up.
