Ok, I tried it for the first time today and I wasn't impressed. I forgot what brand it is, but it says VEGAN really big on the top and if I remember correctly it's in purple writing. Anyway, it was kinda chunky. Is vegan sour cream not creamy like cow's s.c.?

Tofutti Better than Sour Cream is just that, very creamy. I had some last night on TNS's Vegan Perogies and it was superb.
Chunky is not a good sign. What was the best-before date?

I looked ALL over once I saw that it was chunky, but I couldn't find a date on it.
I'll have to look for Tofutti. I do like their cream cheese.

I haven't tried that one. I have tried Tofutti's though, and I agree with the others who say it's pretty good.

in my experience, tofutti's "sour supreme" is even tastier than tofutti's "better than sour cream." it's a little harder to find, but well worth it. :)

Hmm, where can I find Tofutti's Sour Cream and Cream Cheese products? I live near one of the largest Whole Foods in the country, and they don't even carry them! They have 2 other brands of each, though, so I'm going to try those out at least.

I'm not sure where you live, but Kroger has started carrying the Tofutti cream cheese and sour cream. I used to get them at the local health food store. Sometimes if you request an item, your store will start selling it.

I agree. The former contains hydrogrenated oils (the latter does not) so you definately won't find it at whole foods or wild oats. I can get it at Safeway or Fred Meyer (same as Kroger).

YES!! I just discovered a few months ago that Kroger carries almost everything that I like now. The only thing they don't have is the Silk Soy Yogurt. I love Kroger now! :nana:
Oh, and I did end up buying the Tofutti's Better Than Sour Cream and it is yummy. :)

Sour Supreme no longer contains hydrogentaed oils. Wild Oats carries Toffuti products....not sure why Whole Foods doesn't.

I'll echo the sentiment for Tofutti Sour Supreme. Been using it on nachos a lot recently.

I'll check my local Kroger before I get too bent out of shape. But it's not at whole foods, or a local health food store. And I can't get tofutti.com to work so I can't look up item numbers or local retailers that sell it, etc.
Doh!
