best: tazo, and the decaffeinated is not as good (the ingredients are different).
worst: none measure up. there was a totally herbal one that was really weak, but i don't remember what it was.

it's not chai, but it's damn good...
Yogi tea brand makes REAL good Egyptian Licorice...
it's so cool! it only has an aftertaste, you can keep it in your mouth for so long and you won't taste a thing but then the taste hits every part of your mouth, not only your tongue, when you swallow. it's 100% organic too and the bags are completely recyclable and they even give you little messages on the tag to uplift your spirit!
Edit: Trader Joes Chai isn't very good =(

I'm not big on any of the pre-packaged brands myself. I like the made at home variety.

aye, if you can get your hands on a little garden, homemade chai partially from herbs straight out of the garden is the best.

I think Oregon Chai is really good. Better than Tazo.

Both these are bags.
I don't do the liquid concentrate - too much sugar - I like to sweeten my own.

Call me crazy (and many have), but I really like Lipton's chai spice tea. Also honest T makes a really strong chai tea (do not brew the bag more than the recommended time)
In the liquid form, Oregon all the way.

I bought some spi chai over the weekend from T2 (http://www.t2tea.com), and it's lovely!! It's a loose tea (er, tisane) with all sorts of goodies in it. yum yum... :lick: apart from home made, this has to be the best chai I've ever had.

Sadly I've only had Lipton and Tazo. I love my Tazo, and lipton had been getting me through the cravings. However, its gone now and I feel the need to broaden my Chai horizons.
There's a local store called the Tea store (would post the url, but it seems to be having some problems..) and they sell LOADS of loose tea. So maybe that will be my next venture. I shall post about the experience when I get some (probably the beginning of June).
Just out of curiousity, how much loose tea do you use for a cup of tea? I have a ball, but if I filled the entire thing, I feel I'd be wasting tea (I think it hold about 3 tablespoons, she's a biggie?).
Its always good to share Chai experiences :lick:

Yessssss......... I agree. I would note, however, that if you haven't tried Traditional Medicinals it's definately worth a shot! Their "Breathe Easy" tea is to die for... as always, completely 100% certified organic and best of all... from my small hometown of Sebastopol, CA. =)

I prefer making my own, with black tea, nutmeg, cinnamon, raw sugar, ginger and soymilk.
Who else makes their own? What spices do you use? I'm sure it's not real chai, but that's close to the recipe a cookbook of mine calls "chai tea". (I use soymilk and sugar instead of milk and honey)

i brew tazo's chai in home-made coconut milk (with more coconut water than my normal coconut milk). that's what i like.
if i go to starbucks--then i get soy chai because it tastes better than milk chai.
