Okay, I get these little sties on my upper right eyelid from time to time, always in the same place. I get one once every several weeks. For the uninitiated, they're sort of like little pimples that form at the base of an eyelash, supposedly formed by bacteria or oils trapped in the pores. Just like a zit.
They usually become whiteheads within a day or two, and I was told by an opthomologist that if I tug gently on the eyelash which is attached to the sty, it allows the thing to drain and there you go.
Now, does anyone know how to treat them, preferably a home remedy, and why do I just get sties in the same bloody place every time? I used to think it was related to eye makeup. For a while I switched to a different brand of eyeliner and mascara, and threw out the old stuff. But now I never wear makeup, and I've got a nice one that literally formed 2 hours ago.
I've tried rubbing a gold ring on the last one, which I read about online, and it seemed to work, though that could be a fluke. I also read about using warm dandelion teabag as a compress on it. I use warm compresses on them every time anyway, because that makes the whitehead appear more quickly (gross, I know), and it will take care of itself once it reaches that stage, really. But for now, I have this red, painful little bump on my right eyelid, and that's my best side. I want it to go away before I my trip Monday.
Which reminds me, does crying affect that? Hmmm. I bet rubbing does, and I tend to rub my eyes a lot when I cry...
Help?
