Well, I don't know the numbers because I haven't had my hearing tested in a long time. I've have some nerve damage in my right ear since childhood. At one point I had surgery to try to correct the problem; I believe the surgeon took cartilage from my left ear and used it to either make a new stapes or enlarge the existing one. It probably helped a little, but to this day I still have some hearing loss. I got a hearing aid years ago, but it's not perfect and I don't wear it too often because it distorts sounds... It's an analog thing and I understand digital hearing aids are supposed to be techologically better and more advanced, but I can't afford digital. The analog cost me $800.

Most people think a hearing aid compensates it all, but it doesn't.

I tried them on myself a couple of times, with the sound a bit down, but one is suprised how it ampliefies....Everything to the same level. :o

The digital ones are not necesarily (sp) better, the sound can be different as what you are used to and ruin your experience with them.

My ex complained that the digital gave a "hollow" sound and she couldn't bear them.
