Vegetarian skate sneaker? Like Vans...

I've looked through the links on the shoe thread above, and although they all ROCK- I am still searching for a non-leather skate type sneaker. They're proving hard to find! I want a cute sneaker, like Vans or K Swiss makes. Does anyone have ANY suggestions at all? Or are you wearing one you love?? Thanks!! ps I'm in Canada if it makes a difference :-)

Hey I stumbled upon this site whilst looking for veggie skate shoes myself...I heard that there's some vegetarian skater who has his own brand..but it could just be my friend pulling my leg. If anyone happens to come across any nice skate shoes it'd be great...I've been looking for a pair forever haha.

I don't know if its exactly the ones you're thinking of, but there is a skater who has his own Vans and they are vegan, my boyfriend has a pair and he's wearing them at work right now so I can't even check them to see. I think the guy's name is Rowley or Rowely or something.. Jeff, Geoff.. somebody, close enough! But yeah, they are vegan Vans. Cherry, I always have the same problem. We have the same taste in sneakers and it seems that whenever I look at a vegan shoe store/website, all the styles are just terrifyingly ugly (to me anyway). Update for anyone on my sneaker quest- found the CUTEST ones by Airwalk- all canvas, very thick sole, white with a turquoise stripe. I love them and have gotten so many compliments on them! Not your traditional skate shoe but very cute and funky! And I got at Payless Shoes of all places! ($34 CDN).

www.vegetarianshoes.com have some good skatery shoes. They are kind of pricey though and also based in England so postage to Canada will cost a lot. Top quality and well made though. Also these shoes are all made in factories in England so it's not like they're made by child labour in Taiwan or something. They are quite ethical which I think is worth the price.

Payless has just added skate sneakers to their collection, and they have at least one non-leather one so far, so I bet they'll have more soon!

well, keep in mind van's skate shoes are made in sweatshops... so they're not exactly vegan
