Before he left for work Saturday, John A. Sanders asked his mom what would make her Mother's Day. She said she wanted to visit the zoo.

Instead, in a bizarre twist, Sanders, 33, spent the early part of yesterday behind bars in Attleboro on charges that he had fatally injured a Canada goose and stomped to death five goslings

''It was very disturbing," Beaudet said. ''It's hard to put into words. The violence that he used on these defenseless animals was incredible."
The tone of the article would make it sound like this is a veg*n society.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. When I read that quote it was making me think of slaughterhouses/farms, etc and how what he did was incredibly disturbing, but the people that work in SH/farms don't do anything wrong.

This happened very close to Boston. its all over the news here. The mother is claiming this is "totally uncharacteristic" of his personality and that this has become a family crisis. I can't believe that this happened. Goslings, for crying out loud???

the dumb-ass could've just run away...
The entire article made me sick to my stomach, especially the mother defending her son over and over and over again. HE KILLED SOME INNOCENT GEESE, INCLUDING FIVE INNOCENT BABY GEESE. This woman is an idiot. And the last thing she says?
''I can't take away the judgment he's facing," she said, ''but I certainly can show him some mercy and love."
Where TF was the mercy and love towards the goose and her goslings?
OK, the article made me sick AND angry.

This just really confuses me because as far as people go, he's shown to be very compassionate in terms of human rights - read the rest of the article and all the good organizations he's taken part in. Of course none of that changes the horrible act he committed, but maybe he was insane. I'm sure we're gonna hear more about this one.

Thats really sad.. like since he was a "good" person that means we should feel sorry for him? A murder is a murder no matter if its a NICE guy or a MEAN guy lol. I just saw a couple geese and gooselings the other day too :(

yeah like most sane people, other people like this guy use it as an excuse to flip out and just be cruel..
a guy says hes going to kill you doesnt give you the right to whip out an oozie and waste him on the spot does it?

I got hissed @ by some Canadian Geese Parents the other day. I was probably 2 feet away, but they were clearly telling me to F*c& off, so i did.
I wish animals could understand that not all people are douchebags, some of us just friendly observers.
They are just trying to protect their lil' babies, just like (most) humans would do.
