What I like to do is just check my post count when I sign off for the night. That way, it's not a constant obsession like looking at the time or something like that.

I'm not really sure. I think it had something to do with a merger and a rule about read-it=post-to-it, but overall it is a mystery to me why this thread isn't good enough for them.
