GRrr. Chicken-@rsed bassist cancelled on me last night. Did have enough nerve to play with me without Trevor, though he gave a slightly different excuse. Now he says he might go skiing tomorrow, and we'll have to move my practice back till later-
I AM NOT PLEASED.

The rest of today was fairly productive however:
Went to IKEA, got things exchanged, picked up what I needed, picked up a bookshelf from my mum's, came home, got a fairly good cleaning done, organised some tapes into the bookshelf, got my plants out, put some sheets in the dryer, 2 loads of dishes and all the pots scrubbed, the bunny poop picked up, budgies vaccuumed, and I'm sleepin' in a bed tonight, baby! WOOOOHOOOoOHOOHOoooohoooooOOOOOO!!

Only thing is, now I'm exhausted and the satellite isn't working. Trevor! Get home from work and climb up on the roof and fix it!!

Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do w/my life after June. Its not likely that I can teach anywhere since all the districts are laying off tons of teachers.

Geez, sorry to hear this SD.
Just what our two country's need, even less teachers that care.
Sometimes you have to wonder where the priorities are with our gov't these days. Iwould think education and literacy should be one of the highest, but you'd hardly know it based on the cutbacks everywhere.

Major shortage of teachers in the UK...

What a bitch! That sucks! But you know what- don't flip out and change careers right away. You sound like you're really good at what you do, and you should stick to it, even if it seems tough right now.
:)
Back me up here, RSJ.

The only things that make my life worth living are
1) The Most Wonderful Boy in the World and my phone conversations with him and
2) eating chocolate until I burst.

Life is unfair. Everything sucks. I can't wait until the summer, yet current circumstances are making even my Plan look bleak. *sigh*

SD,
I'm so sorry to hear that you were layed off. What are some of those things you've been dreaming about doing when you have the time but haven't done yet? You might get a chance to do those sooner than later.

Move to the ATL. The pay is decent, and they are still hiring like mother-lovers here.

Sorry to hear you got let go SD. :( I thought there was a big demand for teachers, guess maybe it's only in certain areas.
I'm really looking forward to 2:30 when I'm eating a pack of Twizzlers. :D Can I make it that long? Time will tell. I have them sitting right here. Basking in strawberry goodness.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone. I keep telling myself that everything happens for a reason...& even for this there is a reason. I just have yet to figure out what the reason is. It means a lot that so many of you offered kind words! Thanks so much!

Mmm! Field-y.
I'm going to perform some Yoga goodness now, but that will require I first turn off my old flea-bitten tape of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Sweet rediscovered greatness!

This is funny. (http://www.geocities.com/howtodressemo) It's really funny, to me, after living through what *I* consider the only real emo movement (2 words: Sunny Day) but then that's such an emo thing to say.

I don't think I'm very emo. I could take the test, but that would totally smack of effort.

"Also, to be emo you have to be really skinny. Why do you think so many of them are vegans. If you are not skinny, you have to lose weight before you can officially be emo. How many emo girls do you see walking around with a big tank ass? That's what I thought. "
Oh, ha ha. This is great.

Oh, is it is automatic or standard shift?
Sometimes in a standard shift transmission, I've had cars where the synchros seem to be off which prevent the transmission from going into reverse from a parked position. But in all cases where I have encountered it, putting it in one of the forward gears first would line everythingup and easily allow the transmission to be shifted into Reverse.
Reverse gear is “never” synchronised. They use “straight cut” gears for that one.
I personally would consider a major investment in a car (if I had one), because it might be wiser to invest in a car who’s condition is known to me than to invest in a newer car with a unknown condition.

And I have an gruesome clunking noise when I'm driving along sometimes, changing gear on bends does it. Is it fatal?
Could be the cv-joint of the drive shaft, but don’t pin me on that one.

Ivegan: I realize reverse gears are not synchronized. My point was that the gearbox itself was not lined up 100%. So, just going from neutral to reverse may be a bit sticky. But, by going into a forward gear first seems to help line things up and make it easier to go into reverse. Am not a mechanic so cannot explain the mechanics involved. I know what works and going into a forward gear first usually helps solve the problem

I can explain it, but it would take to long.
