gotten hold of someone regarding my cousin! I spoke with his mom/my aunt this afternoon. I caught her in the ICU waiting room at the hospital. Looks like he's going to be ok but has a long road ahead of him. Both legs were broke, but the silver lining is his knee's are ok. They don't believe he'll have trouble walking (after extensive therapy). He ruptured the spleen, so they had to operate and remove it. And his check bones were shattered along with his nose. They implanted metal plates for cheeks and rebuilt his nose. He's on a resperator and still in and out of it..basically from being sedated for pain. No brain swelling still...yeah!!! That was a big concern because of the impact to his head. My aunt is going to let me know when he get's into a regular room and out of ICU, then Dad and I will drive down to visit him.

Ruthie, I'm so glad to hear that things are getting better. I'll continue to keep you & your cousin in my prayers. He's lucky to have you in his family!

I'm really wishing that I'd bought that organic soy chai drink at the store the other night...it would be very tasty right about now.

I LOSTTTTTTTT my favourite cookbook, and I even bought all these special ingredients so i could cook from it.
I was going to read all of this, but its 67 pages, and ive got a cookbook to find!

That's cool. It's really not necessary to read all 67 pages to get the jist of what's up anyhow. More than likely what happened on page 66 isn't even what's happening on page 67. So, just jump in whenever and whereever. That's what I do :D

hey, Ruthie that's great news! i'll continue to keep him in my thoughts.

ACH i went to the cooooooolest store today. i was jobhunting and decided to drop off another resume at the pet food place i was after in the winter, maybe persistence will pay off etc, and lo and behold next door is a new store. well not new, it used to be on the main stretch downtown but it moved, i'd never gone in before and thought it was a clothes store but since i was standing right there i said what the heck and went in.

they MIGHT be hiring because due to the move to a bigger store and getting more merchandise in the near future they might get busier than they were, so the guy there (totally hot) left a res. for the owner. hoping to hear from her ASAP.
the store.. sells.. uh.. smoking .. "accessories" and hempware and jewelry and other uh "alternative" things, lots and lots of insense. and bongs. yes yes.

how thrilling would it be to tell my mom and grandparents i sell bongs for a living?! hehe i so want to work there. and they blast heavy music in the background, and the guy there was kinda freaky, lots of piercings etc. i would so love to work somewhere that wouldn't make me cover tats and take out piercings (when i get them). so yeah i hope i get it, even if it's part time and i have to get a second part time job on the side. it'd be so great :D

found the cookbook. Waiting on my parents to come home with asparagus and pineapple and chickpeas.

hmmm what to have for supper. so far i've been eating peanut butter on soup crackers. i have to survive on what we have til friday, which is when the bf gets paid. unfortunately we don't have much of anything. i might have to eat the always avoided can of "fiesta tomato" soup

hey i should just go visit our friend Michelle, she has cases of food under her bed, as well as a cold storage room in her bedroom filled with more cases of food, plus one very tightly packed fridge and freezer. you can't walk into that house and not smell food cooking.

ok when i came on here today there were over 1700 new posts. i've been on for ohhh 3 hours now trying to get caught up, and the number of new posts has gone UP to just over 1900.
