Ack!! I am so scared! Tomorrow I start my placement at a vet/wildlife rehab center. I have to do 60 hours to complete my college program. I hate starting new things. I know after the first day, it'll be okay, but I just hate the anticipation.
I hope the people are nice. I'm pretty shy so I hope they don't mind that I don't say much. :eek:

Animal people are always nice, and not talking too much on your first day is probably a good thing. [I should take my own advice, gabble gabble] Hope you learn lots of interesting things to tell us all about. I remember the first time I learned how to pick up a hedgehog without being prickled, and seeing her little feet curl around my fingers...

Uh... I don't know that I'd say animal people are always nice. I have several friends who work for vets and they're always talking about how terrible their co-workers are. In fact one of them just quit cause the vet was so bad.

Vets are business men not animal people IMO, [ except Aquarius vet in mildenhall and he's a dear]
I worked as a temporary dogs body for seven years, I loved the freedom, so I got used to starting new jobs with new people. I've found that permanant staff are usually nice to short term ones, as they don't threaten their status quo.

The vet I volunteered at last semester was pretty good. Except for a couple of the techs, they were pretty bitchy. It does seem like a lot of people get into veterinary care who don't really give a damn about the animals.
I'm hoping to do more with the rehab stuff, since that is more along the lines of what I want to do. But most likely, I'll get stuck with picking up poop. :p

this weekend has been sooooo much fun so far. Went shopping for summer clothes & vegan yummies. Stocked up on lots of goodies from Whole Foods. Then a bunch of us had dinner & went out dancing. So much fun :) Oh, & I cant forget the luxury of sleeping in! :D
