How's that prof problem coming, Max? At least, I'm assuming he's one of your profs. Saul someone?

just for the record, I don't have a problem with metaphysical books & divination tools (I'm much interested in this stuff in fact, I do have several tarot decks).. I just find it completely absurd that some one would pay $25 for a box of sticks, just because they have fancy occult symbols carved on them. I mean, did they cut down some sacred trees in Ireland to make them? I just can't see any justification for the price..

Nah he's not one of my professors, yet! He is a bigshot - teaches at CUNY-GC in Manhattan where I hope to go for grad studies. We had to read his book (Naming and Necessity) for a Metaphysics class. I think I did alright on the midterm, but that's scary because if I THINK I did well and I didn't, then it means I REALLY have no idea what is going on!

OZ - there's metaphysics and there's metaphysics. That stuff you're looking at - it's astrological meta-metaphysics. Not to sound too cognoscenti about it, but the academic study of metaphysics is really quite different. Either way, I agree, absurd prices.

Imho: wrong, wrong, wrong.

Your in the “wrong spot”, you should be active.
DON’T sit and wait.
Ok, I admit I’m being negative but if the person that said you could leave early today is the same person that was supposed to deposit the money…..
Eitherway the “big” boss could explain it as you are avoiding him, “because your guilty”.

Take action yourself.

LadyFaile: this happened to me once in Ontario. The boss left for a vacation and had his son work in the shop. The deposit from one of the store's was missing and, of course, "I" was the only one there who was not family.

Like 1vegan (we agree) said, you need to take matters into your own hands and show initiative here.

In my case, I picked up the phone and reported a theft to the Metro Toronto Police. They came by, took statements, and then actually searched the guy's son... and found the deposit in his son's car. I quit the job 5 minutes later.

Your integrity is at stake here... protect it.

I really really want to watch this Alf episode where he made this anniversary cake out of toothpaste. That was always my favourite episode as a kid. Actually, it's the only one I can remember now.

"Alone"

Sometimes, when I'm alone,
I think about Ketchup,
Because I know that the truth is that
Its just sitting there in a bottle, by itself.
I'm pretty sure it's red.
Sometimes when I'm with Ketchup,
I think about being alone,
In a bottle.
Standing next to the mustard all day.

Funk, I share your fear of ticks. I had one get under the skin on my arm once while camping...talk about scary!!!

Ticks, ticks, ticks, I hate the little varmits too. We have some woods in the back yard, and its full of ticks. Gav got a couple last year and I found two on me. To compound my fear, I awoke one morning scratching my a$$ (more than normal, LOL), and then felt a bump. Just kept on scratching for a couple days, until it suddenly dawned on me.....this could be a tick...Played the front and reverse mirror trick and sure enough, I had a parasite lurking in my rear end. At the point of hyperventilating, I frantically called my wife at work and requested her immediate assistance. Thankfully, she came home and took a pair of tweezers and yanked that SOB out. OUCH!! Double OUCH!! Itched for another couple weeks until the little wound healed. Fortunately, I didn't acquire lyme disease.

Hey Funk, I didn't know there was a lymn disease vaccination. Our family needs to get that with constant risk of exposure. How long does it last? We've found wearing light clothing with bug repellent really helps, but not foolproof. I just put tick stuff on the dog last week, getting her all prepared. Most often however, she passes out before making it all the way into the back yard:)

Once, when we were camping in Austin, TX and Giancoli was just 14 months old...I thought that she had a little owie on her nose...the next day the owie was bigger, instead of smaller...I looked at it closely and saw that it was a tick! Poor little Giancoli...

KC, Giancoli, is not her real name. I gave all of my children very traditional names...
