I used to always buy Pacific brand because it was the most affordable and they offered oat, almond ,and hazelnut milk. Now Pacific has expanded and now distributes organic beef and chicken broths. So, I have enacted a boycott on their products as a result.

Just a question, but do you boycott every company that doesn't strictly produce veg*n products?

I try to. But in this case it was almost as if my dollars enabled them to expand into that market.

I have never tried that brand. I buy Silk and I know that they aren't great, either though...but after getting my older children off cow's milk, I can't make them change again.
We tried making our own and it was AWFUL.

That's disturbing...I did not think of that. Maybe Ill stick with Westsoy (Hain Celestial) or Edensoy. :p I always liked Pacific Soy too. Part of it was that they had such perty packaging.

It has been so long since I heard about the evils of Silk...but I think that they were bought out by Horizon (a dairy) and even that they got into trouble for getting a bit of dairy into their soy milk? I am not entirely sure. Does anyone know?

Yep, Dean's Dairy actually owns about 65% of Silk/White Wave. White Wave got into a brief spot of trouble when their soy milk, made on the same machines that process dairy milk, was contaminated with dairy because the machines hadn't been properly cleaned between the soy and the dairy batches. The mistake was caught BEFORE the milk was shipped out, is my understanding...
You'd be amazed at how many unvegan corporations have either invested in or bought out vegan companies....
