It wouldn't bleep it if people spelled it right! Spell it with me now, folks: shiitake.
I've seen different lists before, they usually contain broccoli or cruciferous veggies.
Sigh...I need to step up my intake of leafy greens, sweet potatoes, miso, and yuck, mushrooms. Everything else I eat lots of...especially berries and beans, yum!

apparently the redder a vegetable/fruit is, the higher it is in anti-oxidants.

I always thought that sweet potatoes weren't all that good for you though.... well not bad, just not especially good for you.

I *think* they have a lower glycemic index then white potatos and a TON more nutrition.

The documentary I saw on it didn't say anything about beta-carotene or vitamin A... just that certain plants produce this chemical [forgotten what its called] which makes them red when they are under stressful conditions to ward off the free radicals or something and this acts as an anti-oxidant for us, yadda yadda don't really remember.

Dr. Greger mentioned the same thing in his "Stopping Cancer" dvd, but it was plants making antioxidants to keep insects away.
