Boycott President Bush. Because, Bush, is trying to get it passed (a law), where there allowed to drill for oil, in Alaska! This part of Alaska where it's supposed to be left preserved, and untouched! It's the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge. Please! protect the Arctic wilderness. Don't let Bush get
away with this!

How do we "boycott" President GW Bush? What do you mean by that?

I boycotted him when I didn't vote for him. I support neither him nor his policies.
What else can I do?

Go to protests ?
Write letters to "your congresmember" ?
Write complaint emails ?
Write to newspapers ?
By just sitting there and thinking "I can't do anything about it" won't help.

Those aren't boycotting though.
I'm not buying anything he is selling, so to speak. Does that count?

The existing pipeline has done nothing but help the environment. Caribou populations are at an all time high as more of them are making it through the winters. They huddle around the warmth of the pipeline. W rocks! :D

No, that doesn't really count.
Leaning back in your chair and muttering "I didn't vote for him, and now there's nothing I can do" is not the way to go. (imho)
Groups of people, "pressuring" the "politicians" can get results.
You've seen Terri Schiavo case, although I admit that it didn't involve money, so it wasn't as hard as other things to achieve.

I'll sit back and complain, thank you.

"If you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem" as they say, if I'm right.
I don't believe in "complaining" and not acting.... that's why I became a vegan in the end.
Though I understand "protesting" isn't easy in the US..... if you just sit and accept it......you loose a bit of your right to complain :)

So by tricking yourself into thinking that you're actually helping, you're part of the solution? What are you actually hoping to change? It isn't as if we can realistically "boycott" George Bush.
I did all I could before the election and I voted. I don't have time to parade around at a protest, hoping it will change something, when in the end, it most certainly will not. Pardon my somewhat dim outlook, but it is the truth, unfortunately.

Yeah, ask anyone that's ever lived up there. It's common knowledge.
As for the story on their general coexistence, check out the refuge's site here (http://www.anwr.org/features/pdfs/caribou-facts.pdf)

We are talking specifically about boycotting, pressuring politicians isn't a boycott. I don't know that we can boycott GWB and if we could I don't know what good would come of it.

"Boycott George W. Bush!! Now!"
Done. I've actually been on this for months, since after he and his cronies took over NYC for the RNC and screwed everything up. I give W absolutely NONE of my brain time whatever. I've never felt better!

Well, I didn't vote for him either time. I've signed petitions. I've written letters to lots of people. I've educated people (who voted for him) about him and they've since changed their minds about him, I have anti-war and anti-bush pins on my messenger bag so people see that everytime I go out. People have even stopped me to ask me about the pins (I live in a very red state).
I mean, I suppose I can "boycott" his lies and his stupidity. Plenty of people are doing that, but plenty of people are buying his lies and stupidity as being the truth and intelligence. He's not here to make the world a better place, he's here to make it better for HIM - him and all his oil buddies. He's such "a good christian man", after all.
But no, whenever a petition comes up, I write to my congressmen and more than once, by email and by hand. But I pretty much always get the same thing over and over again - an automated reply.

I do think that we are giving the OP a hard time.
I don't think he/she knew what a "boycott" means. It doesn't make sense to boycott a sitting president.
Perhaps it was an honest mistake in an attempt to rile up some political activism?
Anyhow, I think we have given him/her enough of a hard time.

I'm anything but a bush supporter, but it is hardly fair to blame drilling in the ANWR on Bush, he signed it and supported it yes, but laws like this aren't really executive action.
