So I am heavily considering a pair of either the Solar or the Breeze 2 for my weekend drink server job. My beloved Birkenstocks just don't seem up to the challenge of 8 fast paced hours on my feet.

Anyone have any feedback on these? Another brand suggestion?
My feet hurt when I get home to the point I can barely walk the next day.

Thanks guys!

I don't own a pair, but I've heard great things about them. Here are some links to reveiws from people for each of them. Just go down to the bottom of the page to see them. :)

Solar (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7128371.html)

Breeze2 (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7166949.html)

They are coming out with the Dune style in a vegan shoe in May, so I'm planning on getting them. I can't wait! If anyone's interested, here's what they look like-

I think you'll love them. I have the Solar, in black, and I wore them for a solid week when I first got them. (And with most new shoes, I can't even wear them two days in a row at first.)

I absolutely LOVE these shoes.

Yay thanks Mouse! I really think the Solar are so cute, but I just couldn't pass up the deal on the Breeze 2 :D

This thread reminded me to e-mail Earth Shoes about how to best care for my shoes. I received a very prompt response, and I sent back a thank you, and commented on how much I love my shoes. I received this e-mail in return:

Thanks for the advertising!! Our Vegan line is still reasonably new and we
were waiting on feedback from consumers, like you, before elaborating. We
have received an outcry from happy customers desiring more options in vegan
styles. Expect to see an increase in vegan footwear in upcoming seasons!

Aww, how cute are these! http://www.earthshoes.com/Spring05shoedetail.asp?Gender=women&cat=VEGAN&offset=0&ID=499 I could never afford that, though.

Earth Shoes are not Fair Trade. They're all made in China
by employees that are required to live on the premises in
group dorm rooms. This is typical China manufacturing,
vegan style. There are better options out there.

Could you please provide some links to online places that have better options? I'd be interested. Thanks. :)

Yes, this VB compiled list of vegan shoe resources is a good start, but only about half the online stores here sell sweatshop-free stuff:

Look for brands like Vegetarian Shoes and Ecolution hemp shoes, both of which are fair trade. There are others too. If in doubt, ask where the shoes are made and ask for detailed information concerning working/living conditions for anything made in China. The apparel industry there is quite bad overall.

D'oh. I just bought a pair of Aspen2's from All Vegan at Worldfest 2005 yesterday. Not Fair Trade, but they are leather-free, FWIW. Very comfy, too.
