Hi all,
I read the threads about make up and skin care, but which one is your favorite shampoo? I've been using aveda and want to try something new. My hair's all dried up from dying.

I use John Paul Mitchell daily moisture shampoo, its probably comparable quality to aveda though, are you using an aveda moisturizing shampoo or shampoo for dry hair?

I like Beauty Without Cruelty's shampoo and conditioner for dry/treated hair. :)

I just discovered that Halsa brand shampoo and conditioner is vegan..and of all places to find it I got it at a dollar store. Much better than the $5 and more I was paying for shampoo before.

I just started using JASON's Tea Tree Oil Shampoo for Scalp Normalizing.

I love it.

I just started doing conditioner only washes I found out about on an online hair forum. Basically you get a cheep-o light weight conditioner (I use vo5 volumizing) and wet your hair and soak it with conditioner, massage your scalp and let it sit on your head for 5-10 min. You rinse very very well with cool water and then condition with a heavyer conditioner if you need it, which you might because your hair is dyed. It works because the conditioner has a little bit of stuff in it to help remove dirt and oil, but its very gentle so it takes longer than shampoo. Its worked wonders for my dry, damaged hair that I've been trying to grow you. It takes a couple of weeks for you scalp to quit over producing oil but its worth it!

I love Aveda shampoo - are you using conditioner as well? Have you talked to an Aveda rep to make sure you're using the right shampoo/conditioner?

You can get conditioning treatments, too, which help restore moisture to your hair.

moisterizing shampoos don't really work for me. Well, more like I need them for my scalp. My skin everywhere is always so dry. I can't seem to get my scalp to be non-flaky. Any suggestions for that one?
ps-I am on a pretty low budget...

Well depending on how low your budget is, Paul Mitchell has a tea tree line that should be could for dry scalp, I just got a shampoo conditioner pack for $11 which is half price, they also make a leave in conditioner in that line, presumably also around the $11 mark. I'm guessing every place that carries it will have the shampoo/conditioner for $11 now though, which is a pretty good deal.
