I just picked up some of the Cinnamint flavor of this toothpaste. This stuff is great! I don't know yet how well the whitening part works, but I love the gel formula, and it leaves my mouth clean and spicy. ;)

I've been using the peppermint version for a couple of months now--I love it. I have noticed some whitening, so I'm very happy with it.

I use their spearmint whitening gel. It doesn't make your teeth any whiter, but it still is good toothpaste.

I've never tried the whitening varieties -- do they have h2o2 in them or some other peroxide?

I used to get the propolis & myrrh until I read a bit and found out where propolis comes from. I think them not classing it as an animal ingredient is a bit weasley. I buy non-propolis varieities now.

Zappa's "Montana" didn't make anyone's teeth cleaner, but it's still a good song.

Same thing happened to me. Bees are animals too...

Interesting - I wouldn't have thought any of those would whiten.

I used to use this brand for a long time, but lately I've been using Nature's Gate just because it's cheaper. Plus, it's just as good, IMO. I love Kiss My Face toothpaste, but it's a bit pricey for me.

It's the silica that whitens..basically like brushing your teeth with sand, lol.

That reminds me, Naure's Gate does in fact make the best tasting toothpaste. I think I may get some when I run out.

Are there any vegan toothpastes that are ADA approved?

Some of Tom's flouride toothpastes do.

Fluoride is the big ADA trigger, basically.

I recently switched from Jasons to Tom's Whitening Peppermint Gel. I noticed whiter teeth practically overnight. Doesn't have the thickener's that Jasons gel has, so it kind drools out easier and such, but seems to be working, so I'll hang with it for a bit. Sure beats their pastes, at least my memory of them.

I was under the impression that silica erodes tooth enamel and in the long run isn't so great for teeth. :(

Eww. I wonder what they use in more "mainstream" brands for the whitening..if it's bleach or something? I did baking soda and peroxide for awhile, and it worked well, but was really hard on my gums.

I think they use silica and other abrasives too, in addition to baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. I think the best way to whiten teeth is to go see Mr. Dentist.

Saw the dentist today. My teeth look incredible. Next visit we remove the last of the metal fillings from my teeth (yay!).
