A turtle that was the only survivor of a pet shop fire may have emerged with a hellish memento.

The palm-sized red-eared slider turtle, named Lucky, was the only animal to survive a fire last October at Dora’s A-Dora-ble Pet Shop in nearby Frankfort, about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Owner Bryan Dora now says he sees an image of Satan’s face on the critter’s shell. He can spot lips, eyes, a goatee, shoulders and a pair of pointy horns on Lucky’s back.

Not to mention this guy is making a DVD of the turtle, selling it on Ebay and offering the turtle to the winning bidder...

I am glad the turtle survived the fire.

The shell does have a likeness of an angry goat, but I'd hardly look on it as some sort of sign.

I don't see satan, but I do see the likeness of Bowser from Super Mario World. Perhaps he's behind all this, he CAN breathe fire. :-/ Someone better go check on Princess Toadstool.

I think I see what he thinks is Mephestopholes. The middle, lower part of the turtle's shell. If you use a little imagination you can sort of see eyes, goatee, horns.
I don't personally think it's a message from Old Scratch himself. Auctioning off the turtle seems a little weird.

... i really should stop putting my work off xD i saw this on This Morning a day or so ago, and i couldn't see it at all. I see it now, sort of, but is it really a devil? maybe a long lost king.. in a way it looks like a devil goat giving you an evil glare. Wonder if satan will smite me for disbelieving in his presence on the back of a turtle?

in a way it does seem odd when i tweaked the colours, wonder why changing the hue seperates the "devil" and the turtle shell, it seems kind of doctored to me.. was the photo taken by the news film crew or..?

Unfortunately, almost all chelonians (and other reptiles) sold by pet stores end up with people who never learn how to care for them. I've seen leopard tortoises with badly pyramided shells due to being fed *cat food*, green ignuanas with screwed up bones & muscles from the wrong Ca:P ratio (and no toes from astroturf), etc.

IIRC, Ca:P would refer to the calcium to phosphorus ratio. Not sure how astro turf can cause damage.

I'm not sure how to take that.

Some astroturf / grass mat stuff has loops that aren't cut open -- igs are great at getting their toes caught in this stuff. Amputations, gangrene, etc.

I see I see, about the astro turf.

And my comment was positive about being green or acting for green in general, never fear :)
